@Jacques: From that concept, my card would be:

The End of All

WURBG

Legendary Creature-- Fate

Haste, Trample

When The End of All enters the battlefield, exile your hand, graveyard, library, all other permanents you own until The End of All leaves the battlefield, and you lose half your life, rounded down

Whenever a creature with power 1 or less blocks The End of All, destroy it.

20/1

I made the card harder to stop, because how do you stop the end of all? I also gave it the concept that "the end of the world has come to me, now it comes to you."

Do you think this card would be tournament playable? I think it could be played in 5-color Domain in Modern as SB against other aggro decks. Just a big punch in the face, that's what this card is.

December 30, 2013 6:48 a.m.

@Jacques:

Turn 1: Forest, Tap for Birds of Paradise

Turn 2: Forest, Tap 3 for Torpor Orb

Turn 3: Forest, Tap 4 for Quicksilver Amulet

Turn 4: Forest, at the end of your opponent's turn bring in the End of All with Quicksilver Amulet . You do not lose anything due to Torpor Orb .

Turn 5: Tap Birds of Paradise for 1 White, pay 2 more for Indestructibility on End of All, swing.

Throw in some Emrakul, the Aeons Torn s and Progenitus . Throw Scavenging Ooze in the sideboard for Tarmogoyf decks, and all that alone could probably be a tier 1 modern deck, especially since it's immune to Melira Pod and Splinter Twin because of Torpor Orb .

I have always wanted to make a UR token deck with young pyromancer and talrand sky summoner. This would help make the deck.

Bound Angel

Seven Seals

January 9, 2014 4:16 p.m.

ryuzaki32667 says... #7

the seven seals reads, have 7 creatures equip it to each to remove each counter, pass , it they don't win or remove it from play they lose, maybe something that states can only be equiped a Bound Angel would make it balanced, a token deck would love that thing

January 9, 2014 4:24 p.m.

ErebusX says... #8

perhaps up the equip cost to 1?

January 9, 2014 4:29 p.m.

Korombos says... #9

The seal removal might be tougher, too, something like "Tap, Exile a permanent you control: remove a seal counter from The Seven Seals"

and the win condition might read "all opponents lose the game"

January 9, 2014 4:42 p.m.

ryuzaki32667 says... #10

Yeah, that would make it to where you would have to have 7 creatures and 14 mana the turn you play it to win the next turn

January 9, 2014 4:44 p.m.

Devonin says... #11

I'd leave it the way it is, except just remove the equip cost entirely.

It comes into play, makes the angel, attaches to the angel, and then that's it. Get them all off it while it is attached to the angel, or no dice.

January 9, 2014 4:49 p.m.

ryuzaki32667 says... #12

i thought something like that too, maybe something Batterskull esk with a bounce back effect if the angel dies, I don't think that would be too powerfull, cause you can let them rem 5 counters then sweep the board, they have to bounce back and recast it and then wait the 7 turns again to try and win

Devonin says... #20

Oh, and and (stupid lack of edit) your Thirst for Knowledge is Overwhelming Intellect for -any- spell not just creatures -and- cheaper. Yeah I'd say both of those are both slightly redundant and way overpowered.

I googled mtg thirst for knowledge and nothing came up. :(

I knew they were broken when I made them :D

Soul's Majesty is a card I want.

Non broken versions:

Name: Knowledge of the Future

Cost: 3UG

Card Type - Subtype: Instant

Card Text: Draw X cards where X is the greatest power amongst creatures you control

Flavor Text: "The knowledge of the future is buried in all" - Kruphix

Yes still instant but requires two colours. Okay lets face it, I just want to abuse Prophet of Kruphix even more than I already do. Let's face it, I'd take a Soul's Majesty reprint. (Actually, any deck with green would love the card advantage)

Name: A Name not yet Taken

Cost: 2UUGG

Card Type - Subtype: Instant

Card Text: Counter target spell, draw cards equal to that spells converted mana cost.

Flavor Text: Only drinking the essence of existence can lead to true prophecy.

That's fine right,I mean paying 6 mana to only be able to counter creature spells isn't that crash. My friends generally don't say anything good about the Kamigawa set. If it was any spell paying six to cancel and draw on average three card is entirely acceptable for 6 mana. Just creature would be terrible in a control mirror. Can't say I like Overwhelming Intellect , the just creature aspect makes it too limiting.

Dreno33 says... #23

ErebusX, your mutating chrysalis is really too powerful. think of ALL the 5 CMC cards that are overpowered in every format. now imagine pulling out that exact card on turn 3 often. god forbid you Arbor Elf T1 and T2 you play a CMC creature of 3. then you can pull out a Aurelia, the Warleader if you ran just 1 in your deck, or (Jesus Christ, no) you pulled out your Medomai the Ageless .

with that card, if you pull out Sun Titan you can bring the enchantment back to the field enchanting a different creature, then every time you attack pop it back to the field. CRAZY!

Dreno33 Suggestions on mana cost?

January 12, 2014 12:22 p.m.

ErebusX says... #25

perhaps it could only bring out non-legendary creatures?

January 12, 2014 12:25 p.m.

@ Dreno33

Well, Birthing Pod allows you to do the same, just a lot faster than the mutating chrysalis. Playing a cmc3 on t2, you would cast mutating chrysalis t3, so a cmc5 creature would enter the field on t5. It needs two counters for that after all.

Just compare to this, a possible move from my Ninja Pod deck:
T1 land, mana dork
T2 land, Birthing Pod , Ornithopter
T3 land, attack, jutsu Throat Slitter , sac it to the pod, call any cmc6 creature from your deck.

January 12, 2014 12:59 p.m.

@ ErebusX

I think your card is balanced fine as it is. It's inferior to birthing pod in terms of speed, vulnerability, reusability and color versatility.

...ility.

@ ErebusX

Interesting. Quite powerful when it's on the field, but the cmc is balancing that out.

In the third ability, is that supposed to be a token or a card that is a copy of Jund Abomination? I guess it's supposed to be a token, but that's unclear. If it's a card, from which zone?

January 13, 2014 1:17 p.m.

Devonin says... #31

It seems clearly intended to be a token to me, or it would have had to say "search your library" or "put from your hand onto the battlefield" etc, which it didn't.

Just needs "token that is a copy" slipped in there.

January 13, 2014 1:28 p.m.

@ Devonin

It's easy to see, but that comes from our experiences with other cards, not from the wording itself. A certain type of player would abuse it, new players would misunderstand it. So that opening has to be closed.

The biggest problem with playing competitive vintage decks is the turn 1 wins... sometimes you really hurt the opponent's feelings when you give them no chance to even do anything... Here's to second chances...

A lot better. That snickers card is cool. Maybe a milky way, daim and the others could give a second chance when losing to poison, insta-mill etc.

Probably not playable at all, but just for the taste:

Tommy, Combo Hater (0)

Players may not use shortcuts to declare multiple actions at once. Every action has to be announced and executed separately.
If a player executes the same set of actions more than three times in a row, that player loses the game.

You see, it doesn't prevent you from losing. So, if your opponent loses, you can't win until you got rid of it. However, if you lose, it will leave the game, and your opponent wins.

January 19, 2014 6:51 p.m.

"The most powerful god is all of them"

Damn, Wizards wanted the setting to resemble greek mythology, but it's actually quite close to power rangers.

There's a god/ranger of every color, and each of them has a unique weapon and an emissary/zord as familiar. I absolutely want to see the gods piloting an ultimate mount that is a fusion of the emissaries, wielding an ultimate god weapon that is a fusion of the five god weapons.

Will we get to see a yellow and a pink mana symbol, maybe?
