Pyrohemic Dragon

Since Pestilence Demon is a creature version of Pestilence and Pyrohemia is a red version of it, I shall create a creature version of pyrohemia, which would also be a red version of pestilence demon, and here is my creation.

Pyrohemic Dragon Show

What does everyone think of this card? I honestly am very surprised that WotC has not yet printed a red creature with this effect, so I took the initiative to do that, myself. I chose one of red's most iconic creature types, since pestilence demon is a member of one of black's most iconic creature types, and it would only make sense for its red counterpart to be a dragon. How well did I do with this card? I eagerly await your feedback.

As a side note, using long solid lines to separate the created cards from the rest of the post is far easier than using the complicated spoiler tags that this forum has, so I shall employ those, from now on, so I hope that that practice does not bother anyone here.

goooooddddd

give red ANOTHER dragon and MORE burn along with an obsolete and unplayable version of a DIFFERENT, unplayable card.

flavor text is good though. yknow, if we're assuming THIS dragon can talk.

DERPLINGSUPREME: if you wish, I can alter the flavor text of the card to something that does not make the dragon seem to be sentient, but it was intended as a reference to the flavor text of pestilence demon.

Also, how are this card, or any of the others that I mentioned above, "unplayable," to use your word? Does not such an ability make more sense in red than in any other color?

you misunderstood. this card and the demon are both unplayable. there are better costing biggies and MUCH better versions of wipes and burn wipes, and in addition, both the demon and the dragon cost WAY TOO MUICH to be played.

DERPLINGSUPREME - Unplayable in Standard =/= Bad. This card is a fine design and a powerful effect.

My only issue is it's not original enough.

To make this card more like Pyrohemia, and to make it cost less, you could give it text like:

"At the beginning of your upkeep, if you control no other creatures sacrifice Pyrohemia dragon"

Then you just make it cheaper. This would work very well with cards like Wall of Fire (and other walls). It would help "big red" to not only have a reason to play defensively, but to have curve toppers worth playing in 60 card formats.

Like JWiley129 said the design is fine but if you want more people to actually play it you either need to make it cheaper or give it wicked protectino like Akroma, Angel of Fury. Paying 8 for a 7/6 that can't protect it self is very difficult.

DERPLINGSUPREME,kengiczar: this card is meant to be a direct colorshifted version of pestilence demon, just as pyrohemia is a direct colorshifted version of pestilence, so, if you wish for a creature with a similar ability that is less expensive or has other abilities, then I can always create another new creature, or you can create such creatures yourselves.

Also, I currently am building a red/white/black EDH deck (with Tariel as its general), and I shall have both pestilence demon and Gisela, Blade of Goldnight in that deck, and I am very much looking forward to using the demon's ability with Gisela on the battlefield: the demon shall deal double damage to my opponents, and none to me! enter image description here After several games with that deck, I shall see whether or not the demon is unplayable, although I do believe that it could have cost 7 mana and still have been balanced.

Pestilence Demon has won me a handful of EDH games.

That being said, the dragon should be a 6/7, just for poops.

I forgot to mention that, since "pyrohemia" translates to "fire blood," "pyrohemic" translates to "fire-blooded," which makes sense for a red creature.
