This game has plenty of sphinxes, but very few of them seem to tell riddles, which is weird, considering that one of the most famous stories about a sphinx in real-word mythology is the story of the sphinx in the Greek tale of Oedipus, who asks the titular character a riddle.
Therefore, I have created my own card that I feel portrays the idea of a sphinx asking a riddle to another being, as seen, here:

What does everyone think of this card? Is it interesting and unusual?

TheDevicer, in that case, do you have any advice on how I can improve this card?

Bring the power level to a more uniform place. Something like this:
Riddle of the Sphinx -
Sorcery
Draw two cards, then target opponent chooses a nonland card name. Reveal your hand. If a card with the chosen name was revealed this way, discard two cards. Otherwise, that opponent discards two cards.

The original version, though very bipolar, is interesting in decks that discard their iwn hand. So maybe make it UB to have it gain a life loss ability?
Riddle of the sphinx 3UB
Sorcery
Draw two cards, then target opponent names a card. Reveal your hand. If you reveal the named card, discard your hand. If you don't reveal the named card, that opponent discards their hand. Then that opponent loses one life for each card that has been discarded this way.

What about a more riddle-like mechanic?
Riddle of the Sphinx
Sorcery
Search your library for a card for each opponent and exile them face down. Beginning with the first opponent seated to your left, read the mana cost, the power and toughness, and the type line, then that opponent guesses a card name. After each opponent has guessed a card name, reveal the cards. For each card incorrectly guessed by that opponent, put that card into your hand.

Catalog9000, is that similar to Whims of the Fates, or am I misunderstanding the wording?

I really like the ideas that everyone here has suggested, especially those from itachi45 and MagicalHacker; brainstorming and collaborating/cooperating are powerful tools, indeed.

Magic usually shies away from design that has this big of a discrepancy between high and low points when there is basically nothing in between.
