Riku's Reflection and Riku's Replicant
Custom Cards forum

I recently have become very fond of Riku of Two Reflections , so I have designed two signature spells for him, as seen, below:
Riku's Reflection Show
This spell was inspired by Nature's Chant , which is a combination of Naturalize and Disenchant , and is strictly better than both of them. It is a combination of Twincast and Reverberate , being strictly better than both of them.
Riku's Replicant Show
This card is a variant of Clone , but with a more flexible casting cost.
Obviously, both of these cards are designed to be used with Riku, himself, so what does everyone else think of them?

Spitting Image set the precedent of GU (Simic) getting clones.

Spitting Image , Bramble Sovereign , Dual Nature and Caller of the Untamed specifically say "token copy", which is distinct from entering the battlefield as a copy of a permanent. There are no monogreen Shapeshifters, except Thornling , which is a shapeshifter, because all the -ling creatures are Shapeshifters.

Not exactly - if we take Altered Ego - which is the closest thing to blue/green clone card, it has two abilities - one to enter the battlefield as a copy of a creature and one to enter with extra counters on it. Which of the two abilities is green and which is blue? It is clear - blue cannot put counters on its creatures willy-nilly and green cannot copy creatures like that. The "can't be countered" is primary in avaialable for both colors.
Or Evil Twin - the destroy ability is black, while the shapeshifter ability is blue. Or Dack's Duplicate having red's marquee haste ability, while being a blue shapeshifter (dethrone was grixis in that set).
All of the cards highlighted above are non-creatures that do not enter the battlefield and thus are not Clone - a 0/0 creature that enters the battlefield as a copy.

This is a stupid argument to keep going Boza... move on instead of hijacking this dudes entire thread so that you can argue semantics. Any U/X combination gets clone variants even if it hasn't happened yet (lookin at you Azorius).

I think they are a bit on the weak side and the replicant breaks the color pie. A hybrid card has an effect that either of the colors has access to and green alone does not get clones.
I would probably do something like this:
Riku's Clone
Creature - Shapeshifter
You may have Riku's clone enter the battlefield as a copy of any creature, except it has "Other permanents with same name cannot activate their abilities".
0/0
Riku's Reflection
Instant
Choose one: - Copy target instant or sorcery spell.
- Change the target of target instant or sorcery spell.
