Does that mean Swords to Plowshares is Kryptonite?
Also, superman canon states that he is weak to magic so maybe instead of indestructible, "prevent all damage done to Superman"? That way he is still immune to most stuff but (as is proper as far as canon is concerned) not immune to magical effects.
This would also make him a little more fair as a card as well.

Ah I agree, will update him when I get the chance! Great suggestion.

It would have to be combat damage, that way Lightning Bolt (as a magic spell) can still hurt him. And Shazam has shown us that magic lightning can knock Superman on his ass.
Now we just need a way to show how boring of a character he is.

I remember that v.s.
Made me laugh my ass off when Shazam 1hit K.O.ed Supes.

How about creatures your opponents control have indestructible, since he refuses to kill them, and they can take punches from him and still live.

ojmandias That would defeat the purpose of his ability.

Sshh! It's not like he ever contradicted himself or did stuff that was against his policies.

What about deathtouch? A snake shouldn't be able to kill him.

Grantley91 A source with deathtouch has to actually deal damage. If you prevent all damage dealt to him deathtouch won't matter. (Unless you were referring to vault and inferring someone could Prey Upon.)

what about something like this:
Superman cannot attack.
Morbid -- If a creature died this turn, you may attack with Superman as normal.
(I don't think that's the way Morbid really works, but you get the point.)
Also, +1 to Ohthenoises for his comment, VERY thematic. Also, keep in mind what vault added. It makes a lot of sense also. =)

There's always ways for things to deal damage other than through combat and there's countless ways to get deathtouch. Maybe "Indestructible during your turn. Prevent all combat damage and 'Destroy' effects during your opponent's turns."
June 5, 2015 9:26 p.m.
I like the ideas for "Indestructible during your turn." and "Prevent all combat damage." But for the last, what about, "Tap: Destroy target permanent. You lose life equal to the target permanent's CMC." Because Superman can easily destroy "lands," but you never see him destroying living things without some sort of "emotional" damage. I'm not considering fair play here, just theme, so's ya know. =P

Or maybe even;
X, Tap; Destroy target permanent with casting cost X. You lose life equal to its power plus toughness.
So you can still destroy things like artifacts or enchantments by paying for them but not taking damage.

You could always do a bastardization of Manor Gargoyle. (My all time favorite junk rare.)
Supes has defender.
Morbid - If a creature died since your last turn superman loses defender and gains haste until end of turn.
Idk, that's all I got.

While I love the defensive, good-guys-don't-strike-first mechanic, it makes for too much text (at least in this incarnation); I'd rather give him heat vision and frost breath!
Totally agree that we needed to nerf the indestructibility. Here's the new version:

Powers: Heat Ray, Frost Breath and an enhanced Lens of Clarity.
Static abilities: He should fly (duh), he's fast, damage-proof, and ever-vigilant against TEH EVIL.
