The "banhammer" is a phrase commonly used on the internet when a user is banned from a site, and the M:tG community has also adapted it to refer to when a card is banned from a format. Therefore, I have decided to make a card modeled after it, and this is what I have produced:
The Banhammer Show
Obviously, this card had to be legendary, because a repeatable version of Meddling Mage would be too powerful if multiple copies were on the battlefield simultaneously. How are the mana costs for both casting it an using its ability? I do not wish for them to be too high, so are the acceptable as they currently are?

GobboE, do you mean 4 mana for its initial casting cost?
shadow63, what would you recommend the cost for untapping it be?

I don't know, it's basically Nevermore except you can change it. That doesn't sound too bad.

The fact that it is a choice whether or not to untap, makes this card powerful. In other words it is reusable, whereas Meddling Mage - in itself - is not (obviously you can retriger the mage, but only after you've included cards such as Deadeye Navigator).
I would go for mana, taken into account the effect it will have on the game, and its re-usability.
