Vaat Le'naar, Spark-Shaper

Legendary Planeswalker - Vaat

Planeswalker spells you control cost less to cast.

+2 Scry 4 and reveal the top card of your library. If it's a Planeswalker or a land, you may play it and spend any color mana to do so. Otherwise put it into your hand.

0 Add two in any combination of , , , , or . Spend this mana only to cast Planeswalker spells.

-5 You may activate loyalty abilities of Planeswalkers you control an additional time until end of turn.

-X Add X loyalty counters divided as you choose among any number of other Planeswalkers you control.

Vaat Le'Naar, Spark-Shaper can be your Commander.

Obviously his name evokes Chandra Nalaar's. I imagine he too is from Kaladesh and that this is a common naming convention among their people.

Likely not enough room on the card for 6 fields lmao but hey, shrug?

If I had to head-canon some lore, I'd say his spark ignites during Aether Revolt and it plunged him directly into the heart of Strixhaven. There, with the brilliant mind of a native to Kaladesh, he quickly mastered his skills and grew through the ranks as a Headmaster leading classes in one of their Universities. Now he spends his time consulting and aiding any and all Planeswalkers, and seeking out newly ignited ones, to help them on their adventures.

Just a real swell, humble, golden-hearted fellow.

The +2 says "play it, otherwise, put it in your hand." Did you mean "put onto the battlefield" instead of play? Because you can still play it if it's gone to your hand.

plakjekaas oooh you're right. I was thinking like red's fast draw effects where it's now or never, but if you get a nonland nonplaneswalker card then you can't use it, so it would go to your hand.

I'll revise. I think straight to the field is a little op.

So there, you still cast the Planeswalker but now you lessen color restrictions for the turn. So revealing something like Bolas will be a lot easier to cast off of the +2. And if it's a land, because it says "play", you can still do that also

Ah gotcha, it was meant as the Chandra, Torch of Defiance first +1. If you want to make those in the future, add an "if you don't", that would clarify a bit ;)
