cost:
type: Instant
Does: Deal 2 Damage to target creature or player.
Empower; Thunder Shock does an additional 2 damage for each spell currently on the stack
I agree with ThatJunkMage. This is actually really cool, but i think 1 additional damage is where you should start for playtesting. You might even try 2CMC for 3 damage and empower 1 damage.

I think you should make Empower read "each other spell currently on the stack", but otherwise the card is probably too strong. It's also EXTREMELY complicated because there are only a few cards that even reference the Stack, which WotC does on purpose b/c the Stack serves no function other than to make the game work.

my idea is "reprint storm but make it weaker" so any card with "empower" copies itself according to the size of the stack

definitely wouldn't be played in a storm style combo deck. Would be way too good in burn.

This just makes storm even better. This+Grapeshot requires only 4 previous spells to be cast to be lethal. It definitely needs to only add one damage for each spell on the stack, and even that is very strong

anywhooo... the card design is just to give an idea of how the mechanic would work not how the card should actually be

it should probably say "when you cast this spell, copy it for each spell currently on the stack, you may choose new targets for the new copies"

"when you cast this spell, copy it for each spell currently on the stack, you may choose new targets for the new copies" is actually much stronger than the way you have it templated now. As it stands the ability checks while the spell is resolving to add the additional damage. This means that spells under it on the stack can be countered to make it smaller. It also currently constrains to one target which is much weaker than being able to choose new targets for each additional damage. Copying the spell also makes this card much harder to handle since a single counter also wouldn't be able to deal with it.

I apologise for the confusion, I merely forgot the wording used on storm, while more powerful than my initial wording it's not as strong as storm which was the intention "copy storm but weaken it"

2 damage seems too much for the second ability. Make it either 3 mana to cast or 1 damage for a bit more balance.
