Tibalt is kind of a badass lore wise but isn't really represented well in his cards and so I give you this :) Just kind of threw it together but I think it fits him well. Feel free to leave thoughts, criticisms and suggestions. Thanks for looking!!

Tibalt the Tormentor

2BR

At the beginning of your upkeep, if Tibalt is exiled, return him to your hand and add BR to your mana pool

+1: gain control of target creature with power 3 or less until end of turn, untap and it gains haste. At the beginning of your end step return that creature to its owners control and have Tibalt deal 3 damage to it

0: name a creature and target opponent reveals his or her hand, if the named creature is revealed this way then you may cast it without paying its casting cost

-6: you get an emblem that says "whenever an opponent casts a creature spell you may gain control of it, if you do it deals damage equal to its toughness to Tibalt. If Tibalt would be put into a graveyard exile him instead"

Wow. So broken.

Hey just letting ya know that his upkeep ability doesn't help recast him as the mana is emptied from your mana pool at the end of the upkeep step so you that mana would need to be cast on an instant.

ChiefBell, slovakattack are there specific parts that you guys think are too op? I was hesitant to add the 3 damage to the +1 and the exile ability needs to be messed with, especially the mana part.. thanks Lordofevolution, didn't even notice that ;)

My main issue is that there's really no way to get rid of him. Exiling him not only doesn't kill him, it gives you mana (although the mana is wasted. I think you meant to write 'main phase').

This means that he'd fit right in with a Jund shell, and with thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek, I could see him being scarier than Liliana of the Veil . His +1 has a stupid amount of control (take Sarkhan Vol 's -2 ability as an example.)

His second ability is a 0, which is a big no-no. Wizards tried the '0 experiment' with Jace, the Mind Sculptor and we all know how that turned out. With Thoughtseize giving you the ability to take a peek at your opponent's hand, his second ability has the capacity to be broken beyond belief.

His ultimate is kinda weird. If he's exiled, does the emblem effect still activate? If it does, than it has the capacity to end the game harder than Elspeth, Knight-Errant - and she's a 6 drop.

This is kind of a potpourri of every overbearing aspect of various planeswalkers, combined.

Changed it up a little, I don't think this version is broke and the abilities fit Tibalt...

Panda213 I like the second one a lot better! It's got a lot of flavor.

Tibalt the Tormentor2BR

At the beginning of your upkeep, if Tibalt is exiled, return him to your hand and add BR to your mana pool

This is completely broken, especially when you take into account his emblem, this would trigger off any exile effect, and would even trigger off abilities which exile spells face up Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver being the first such card that comes to mind. This is COMPLETELY broken and needs to be removed.

+1: gain control of target creature with power 3 or less until end of turn, untap and it gains haste. At the beginning of your end step return that creature to its owners control and have Tibalt deal 3 damage to it

Without the 3 damage on returning the creature this could be an okay ability, Tibalt is always a little chaotic, for more balance I'd instead have it read something like "+1: Gain control of target creature with power 3 or less until end of turn, Tibalt deals 1 damage to you."

0: name a creature and target opponent reveals his or her hand, if the named creature is revealed this way then you may cast it without paying its casting cost.

With the number of tutors and other effects which can cause you to reveal creatures this is insanely broken... "I'll tutor for a Blightsteel Colossus " "I'll play Tibalt, activate his ) ability naming Blightsteel Colossus , thanks." ... turn would go something like that.

-6: you get an emblem that says "whenever an opponent casts a creature spell you may gain control of it, if you do it deals damage equal to its toughness to Tibalt. If Tibalt would be put into a graveyard exile him instead"

Not overly broken, I'd change toughness to power to make it more of a risk to take creatures, I'd also look at perhaps adding in that you only gain control of the creature until the end of your next turn to limit the power.

How did not a single one of you see the changes I made?! I mean seriously post #5 are the changes I made and all of the comments have nothing to do with that. I mean I appreciate the feedback but damn... y'all took the wind outta my sales, I'll just stick to making decks.

Updated is definitely better, but I feel it doesn't really fit his torturing nature. He is just a control based walker imo. That said...

+1 is awesome, while still being fair

-2 is too good with discard, almost op, but it is a -2 and requires other cards to work efficiently so I'm up in the air on that one

-6 needs haste in the wording and the you control part allows you to draw off all kinds of zone changes. Really interesting in its own right as an emblem without the Threaten ability.

Overall, needs some work and doesn't really fit Tibalt. But, I think you are on to an interesting walker idea just don't let negative comments detract you.

Tibalt the Tormented

+1: Gain control of target creature with power 3 or less until end of turn, untap it and it gains haste

-2: Name a creature card and target opponent reveals his/her hand, if the named card is revealed this way you may pay life equal to its cmc, if you do you may cast it without paying its casting cost. If the named card is not played this turn then put it into its owners graveyard

-5: You get an emblem that says "whenever you lose control of a creature you may draw a card"

This seems a bit more fair

-2 is now more balanced, still powerful as hell, but the lifeloss fits Tibalt perfectly in a BR build.

7th turn is usually the ultimate turn, but 6th isn't unheard of so I think its fine at -5. Plus you could always wait a turn to pop him and then trigger the emblem off his +1. I really hope WOTC utilizes the lose control trigger that you came up with. It's just so breakable I love it.

Feels like a more mature Tibalt who has learned to best use his powers.

I too made a new version of Tibalt because his original card sucked...and we need a good R/B planeswalker. His whole deal is torture, so I tried to make reflect that in the card, as in all his effects cost you.

Tibalt, The Scorned

2RB

+1 Tibalt, The Scorned deals 2 damage to target creature and 1 damage to you.

-3 Target player reveals his or her hand. You choose target nonland card from it and that player discards it. You lose life equal to its converted mana cost.

-6 You get an emblem with "Whenever a creature you control dies, it deals damage equal to it's power to target player"

This is how R/B planeswalker should be, burn, discard, and death.
