Card I am considering adding to a custom set of mine...
This is my original idea, please ask before using it.
Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

Okay, so let me get this straight. You are saying that the cost of getting two of these cards (Unnerve, Yawning Fissure, Fleshbag Marauder, Breath of Malfegor) should be if it's an instant.
Then again, it is 2 in the morning, so it could be one of those designs that seems okay only because someone is like half awake.
To make this into a serious design that is realistic, I'd cut it to sorcery and make it at least a 6-drop, but even then, it still seems too good. I'd feel most comfortable it costing at sorcery speed.

Also land destruction shouldn't be this cheap. Especially as an instant. Early game it's effectively I gain a turn, as an instant if I play this right... I gain two turns. If you go first and play this turn two you will always be two land land ahead. Oh and they will likely only have one creature, not that you would use that as 5 life is huge...

Tyrannical Command cannot be played before turn seven.

Hell, if I'm casting this turn two on the play, you've just sacked your only land, and I'm making you discard two- either throw out the replacement lands you presumably have in hand, or ditch the actual spells you need. Either way, I've just sped you towards top decking, slashed your mana, and you haven't even cast a spell yet.

Oh my gosh what I have I just made... OK, yeah. I'm awake now, and this is monstrosity.

That is an awesome idea, but it definitely needs to cost far more mana, and likely be a sorcery, as well. I say that either or would work for it, and I also suggest lowering the cards discarded by the first option to only 1, since the next two modes each remove a single permanent.
Also, while the name is awesome, the "tyrannical" part of it suggests that it should be black and white, since white is the color of law and authority, and black is the color of corrupting and twisting wholesome concepts into something wicked.
dontjudgemyusername, there is no reason for us to ignore this thread, so please do not be discouraged. You definitely have a great idea, but it simply needs to be adjusted; this is very similar to how WotC designs cards (I imagine), so think of this thread as being akin to the design process of the actual company that makes this game.

Hm, ok. I like the idea of adding white to it for flavor. Possibly changing an effect or two.

Hold your horses. This card is a very mono black card. There's nothing white about this card's effect. The word "tyrannical" might imply white, but the effect is purely black. I recommend either living with the fact that the name you currently have slightly suggests a different color, which could easily be explained by the lore of the set, or just change the name.
As for the cost, I also think this works much more fairly as a sorcery. Changing this to a sorcery and nothing else, I think that the appropriate mana cost is something along the order of . Keeping it at instant speed, it should be at least or even .
Perhaps you'd agree that such a card at 7 or 8 mana seems like if you pulled it in a pack, you'd probably be disappointed. Probably the best thing you can do for this card is to nerf the effect so that you can nerf the cost. By doing so, it becomes more playable, more appropriate in a mana curve, and becomes a mythic rare that actually plays a role in sculpting your format.
Consider this:
Tyrannical Command -
Instant
Choose two --
- Target player discards a card.
- Target player sacrifices a land.
- Target player sacrifices a creature.
- Target player loses 3 life.

Its way too powerful. Every mode is extremely strong. It should probably cost at least 5, even then I'm not sure it isn't broken. Usually in a card with modes, you'll want 1-2 good modes, 1-2 average, and 1-2 below average. Having all 4 being this strong is just broken.
