What if Gifts Ungiven and Realms Uncharted were part of a cycle?

Here's the white version I think would be cool:
Weapons Unforged 2W
Instant
Search your library for up to four Equipment cards with different names and reveal them. An opponent chooses two of those cards. Put the chosen cards into your graveyard and the rest into your hand. Then shuffle your library.

Fires unignited -
Sorcery
search your deck for 4 instants or sorceries with different names. An opponent chooses two of those cards. Put the chosen cards into your graveyard and the rest into your hand. Then shuffle your library.

i like the idea behind these. i also agree with itchi on this. it would have been nice if it was a cycle and blue was the fires ignited card mentioned above. that said i think this card is fun too given that gifts exists as is.

So now we need a colorless one:
Fucks Ungiven 6
Search your library for 4 colorless cards with different names. An opponent chooses two of those cards. You and opponent shuffle your decks, sideboard, shuffle again and begin the next game. They just lost.

Sorry, had to be half a troll there. In reality this would be a really cool cycle of all colors got one. The fires is awesome, the white makes sense, the green and blue already exist.
Black is the notorious "take whatever card you want" color, so how about:
Ambitions Unforseen 2BB
Search your library for four cars with different names. Opponents chooses two. You get the other ones. Blah blah blah...lose 4 life.
Is 4 too much? 3?
There have been some prett crazy things in the past as well, like "keep all four cards. You lose the game at the beginning of your next end step.

I was thinking it would be a Gifts Ungiven for one mana less except you lose life equal to the greatest Cmc among the cards you chose.

So black gets a worse Gifts Ungiven? That doesn't seem fair. Seems no less fair than mine come to think of it.
Would it be too bonkers for your opponent to lose life equal to the cmc of what they choose to pitch? Kind of like a "you may take away my best opinions, but at a price" situation. I mean, that's very black mana flavor.
That just opens up the idea of tutoring up Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, Kozilek, the Great Distortion, Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre, and Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger and saying....lose 10. I win.

Oh lol no I meant choose as in the caster chooses up to four cards, not the opponent.
But that'd be a strictly better Realms Uncharted... So nevermind lol

I think you misinterpreted what I said. You pick 4 cards. Opponent picks 2 for you to put in graveyard. They lose life equal to the cmc of what they chose to throw away. It's Gifts with a twisted black mana make a deal with the Devil kind of flare. To powerful though?

@capriom85 that would be super broken -- search up Autochthon Wurm and Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. They're forced to choose both, they lose 27 life. Then, Emrakul's trigger shuffles both them AND the black Gifts effect back in. Rinse. Repeat.

Hey look! Math! For some reason, I thought Autochthon Wurm had a cmc of 12, but it's actually 15. Your opponent loses 30 life instead of 27 lol.

Oh I thought you misinterpreted what I said, but what do you think about this:
Contracts Unsigned
Instant
Search your library for up to four cards with different names and reveal them. You lose life equal to the total converted mana cost among those cards. An opponent chooses up to two of those cards and loses life equal to the combined converted mana cost. Put the chosen cards into your graveyard and the rest into your hand. Then shuffle your library.

That may work in Modern with the average cmc around 3...but I'm still not convinced that's the way to go. Not broken though.

I think its not beoken, but it will probably be banned in Modern because of Affinity.

I think the issue with this may come in that Gifts Ungiven, if it were to be following the precedent set by WotC in the past, should have just searched for instants and/or sorceries. With Green searching out lands, that would leave White, Black, and Red with Creatures, Artifacts, and Enchantments. As Black and Red have now way to interact with Enchantments, I think White would actually end up being Enchantments, with Red being the Artifact fetcher in the cycle, grabbing any kind of Artifact, possibly flavored as using scrap metal to be reforged into other things. That leaves Black with just Creatures, but that's not really what Black does, so this one would actually be the one that you can grab any kind of card. It even fits in Black's flavor much more easily than in Blue's. You've made a deal with an enemy and now you're going to kill them with whatever they've given you and possibly even whatever they haven't.
That said, I do really like the design, but I feel may be a bit cheap / easy to pay for for an instant speed tutor. Maybe either or .
