What should this cost?

Custom Cards forum

I was thinking up an idea for a card that recurred an instant or sorcery and came up with this.

[cardname] ???

sorcery

you may cast target instant or sorcery from your graveyard this turn. When you cast that instant or sorcery, return it to your hand.

exile [cardname]

i originally thought of letting you cast the target for free, but i thought making you pay the cost would help to balance the card more.

Any suggestions?

it's kind of like a worse tutor, or a better flashback. I think 2 is fine, because you need the mana to cast this then cast the other spell. this might put it a bit out of what would be delver's range of spells, maybe it could be run as a 1 or 2-of, but it would be really good to re-use wraths in more traditional style control games. it could also be flavored in instead of mono blue, I feel.

Feels similar to Past in Flames to me.

giving it back to hand makes it a bit better than just targeted Past in Flames, so I was thinking less than past, but one mana wouldn't be enough for it to give card advantage. it kind of tutors for two cards with the same name?

I would personally make it something like , because you still have to cast the spell. Ad it's a sorcery.

I think would be good to, you get 2 cards for 1, but you can choose from the GY which one you get 2 of. Downside is you have to have mana to cast right away.

Well the best thing to compare it to is Recoup as for what it's mana cost should be. So in turn, I agree with Souljacker on the mana cost because its returns to the graveyard.

It's a combination of flashback and buyback btw.

The sorcery should cost or but you should pay the cost of the spell in the graveyard as well.
