3 Drop BUG
Deck Help forum

I'm looking to find myself another 3-drop in my counter-centered BUG deck here ---> CorpseMaster BioMenace besides Vorel of the Hull Clade as he is legendary and I already have 2. I'm torn between Renegade Krasis , Simic Manipulator , Elusive Krasis , Dreg Mangler , (your suggestions), or just relying on Sylvan Caryatid to skip me from 3-drops to 4-drops.

Dreg Mangler - he hast haste, you can scavenge him on to something later, and with a Master Biomancer out on the field he comes out as a 5/5 at least.

Screw those 3 drops, go with Varolz, the Scar-Striped ! Also, Don't be afraid to run 3 or 4 of legendaries. If they are important to your deck or just really powerful, run as many as you need to. For your deck, I would run 3 Vorel of the Hull Clade and 4 Varolz, the Scar-Striped .

I do love the Dreg Mangler but he would be the toughest to hit as I don't have a lot of black mana... But he's probably worth it. What did you mean that I can't play her on turn two NobodyPicksBulbasaur?

Also Varolz, the Scar-Striped doesn't become that necessary in my deck. I don't have a good way of getting them into the graveyard and once I have one Legendary out I can't play another until that one is dead.

You can put the second legendary out and sac the first, then scavenged the saced one for +3/+3.
The new legendary rule lets you choose who goes to the GY

I just mean you won't see your ramp dorks every game. Sometimes you won't have a Caryatid on turn 2 and you'll just have to play on without it.

Aw yes, thanks for the clarification! I'm liking how Dreg Mangler is in play tests but I will mention that with a Master Biomancer out or even using Corpsejack Menace to evolve a Simic Manipulator on turn 4 means I can steal a creature with a 2 cmc, or then turn 5 getting doubled again, potentially steal a god. And that I like the sound of, and it's quite unexpected in today's meta. At least where I've been.

Boon Satyr ? For flash and surprise plays, plays well later in the match to bestow or trade. With your comboey pieces out, he comes in as a pretty big threat too hard-casted. You're running plenty of G so GG shouldnt be any trouble.

I like Boon Satyr but currently I don't own any, and with the Prophet of Kruphix I still have the opportunity to chump block by flashing in creatures if I would need to.

Slightly lowering the number of 3-drops in your deck to account for Sylvan Caryatid 's ramping isn't an unwarranted idea, but you don't want to be left defenseless during the games you can't play her on turn 2.
I would go with Dreg Mangler . I've run him and he's quite an efficient little threat. A good little threat and he's good all on his own. The other cards you mentioned all require setup from other cards, making them terrible topdecks.
