So I want to buil a deck with melira, sylvok outcast]] and swords, essentially a melira blade. I'm thinking about her and Glissa, the TraitorMTG Card: Glissa, the Traitor as the main creatures in the deck. I don't know where to go with this deck because I want to add Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas MTG Card: Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas but I feel like he may hinder the deck a bit. I feel like AsceticismMTG Card: Asceticism is a must for protection late game and spells kite early game. I need as much experience as possible from all the deck builders out there because I get caught up in too many ideas

I feel like the deck has potential

Standard, I assume?

I'm not as familiar with Type II as I once was (I stopped playing it due to displeasure with the format), but I don't know if Melira will do you much good. How exactly were you planning on using her?

Also, don't get too caught up on thinking about support cards until the framework (especially the colors) are roughly determined. You have a great potential to overdesign the deck and screw yourself when it comes to color balance.

you assume correctly with standard. the main thing with her is her synergy with Black Sun's ZenithMTG Card: Black Sun's Zenith because it opens the entire field. She is also an effective 2/2 2drop which is very helpful for sword bearing and whatnot. And the framework is where I'm having trouble because of all the ideas floating around in my head. But i still trust your opinion very much when it comes to deck building in general whether in standard or not

Black Sun's ZenithMTG Card: Black Sun's Zenith is a bit expensive to be useful as a boardwipe in Standard right now. It can't hit Inkmoth NexusMTG Card: Inkmoth Nexus, and it has trouble with many other creatures because you need to invest mana in it without leaving it undefended from counterspells.

If you were to outline the deck, what colors would you use?

this is true, but if I use Autumn's VeilMTG Card: Autumn's Veil it shouldn't be a big problem. And as for colors, I was thinking b/g or b/g/u. I have a b/g/w on my profile but I feel like it isn't too good and it doesn't have room for glissa.

I think you're overcomplicating things a bit. Autumn's VeilMTG Card: Autumn's Veil is itself quite limited, although it has applications against the decks you would run it for.
