Ancient Grudge or Wear / Tear

Working on my sideboard for GP Richmond.I'll be playing Family Affair, and am debating running Wear / Tear in the side vs Ancient Grudge .

Also do you think a second Surgical Extraction is needed or is one of plenty? Also what would you pull for the second?

I see no reason to run Ancient Grudge over Wear / Tear . You have one card that supplies green mana((that i saw atleast)), so the odds of flashbacking it are next to none, i would run Wear / Tear

Well I'm I need to flashback (or I pull Kessig Wolf Run ). I can go get Temple Garden with the fetches, so a green mana supply isn't an issue. I more debating if destroy target enchantment as an option is better than flashback.

Ahhh i see. I've only played Standard so i've never had expirences with Fetches, i still personally would go Wear / Tear

I find that Ancient Grudge has saved my skin many times. It is a great sideboard against Pod and Affinity, which collectively make up a huge portion of the meta. The ability to knock out Birthing Pod , then threaten to knock it out again if they cast another one is unbelievably helpful, and against Affinity, it's removal with flashback. You mention in your description that Affinity is your weakest match up, but Ancient Grudge can even it out a bit.

On the other hand, enchantments aren't really a big thing in Modern. The only really threatening enchantment that comes to mind is Splinter Twin , but Twin decks can be taken down by a well timed kill spell (assuming it resolves), so enchantment hate isn't really necessary.

I think you might want Ancient Grudge , if your Affinity matchup is truly the weakest.

That said, what relevant enchantments would you get with Wear / Tear ? Leyline of Punishment ?

Also note that Wear / Tear can only be used once, which is a major downside in comparison to Ancient Grudge .

Id run Wear / Tear . There are plenty of enchantments in the meta, and although Ancient Grudge is good against affinity, there aren't many other decks with a critical mass of artifacts. Some examples of cards Wear / Tear hits that Ancient Grudge doesn't: Bitterblossom , Honor of the Pure , Spreading Seas , Threads of Disloyalty , Blood Moon , Splinter Twin , Detention Sphere , Ghostly Prison , Leylines, and any aura from a Bogles player, plus a bunch more sideboard cards.

TitansFTW I agree, I think I am most worried about dealing with Pyromancer Ascension . I haven't played storm yet, but other than Surgical Extraction to pull a ritual out of the graveyard and Rest in Peace to stop Past in Flames I see that being a problem. On the other hand essentially 4 spells for 2 sideboard spots is just value.

infinitemana Gives a good list, Detention Sphere could be problematic for me, as for Bitterblossom and Splinter Twin I normally am able to mob them before I have issues, and I normally hold a Path to Exile for a twin creature.
