Answer For A Population Deck

Deck Help forum

I played someone's Selesnya population deck recently and none of my decks could put a dint in it. Once the population mechanic got going there was nothing I could do to stop it.

So I was wondering what is the best deck mechanic to play to take apart a population deck?

Drown in Sorrow , Bile Blight and Illness in the Ranks and similar cards. Not so much a mechanic but removal.

If they populate the same token over and over, Detention Sphere is awesome.

What CrazyLittleGuy said. Ratchet Bomb is so simple for all that. Do not forget that the converted mana cost of tokens is 0. So you pay 2 to play it, tap, sac, your good. Surprised that it was not the first answer.

Make a token deck to beat him at his own game? How strong are they as well, I've played a few of these.

Some Combos:Goblin Diplomats +AEtherize (Look up infinite combo decks)

Deck Ideas:

RW Aggro could be helpful here. You get the right deck you can Rush the opponent for a quick win. This applies to other colors but RW does it quite a bit.

BG Evolve could also work, as they increase their number of creatures, make yours stronger. Get 2 40/40 Cloudfin Raptor (and Master Biomancer and some others) on your side of the field and attack.

RG Mana Growth Use Mana Growth with cards like Xenegos, the reveler (or in a sliver deck,Manaweft Sliver ) boosting you then use cards like Cinder Elemental . If dealing with flying tokens, Gruul Charm should help.

General Helping Cards:

Red: Electrickery , Mindsparker , Anger of the Gods , Mark for Death

Blue: Cyclonic Rift (LITERALLY THE DOOM OF TOKEN DECKS), AEtherize

White: Congregate (Ought to have x4 for best effect :P),

Black: Erebos, God of the Dead (Prevent use of Congregate)

Green: Could have a shitton of Defend the Hearth , Fog , Druid's Deliverance for a green deck that takes a while but will win. A combo with Mana Growth mentioned above or Azor's Elocutors

Gold: Slaughter Games or Detention Sphere

Sorry would've done more, but was taking too long to look up all the card names I didn't remember. :/
