Answers to Direct Damage in standard

So what sort of answers are there to things like Bonfire of the Damned in standard post-rotation?

I'm going to try running a Bant control/turbofog deck (Filibuster Vigilantly, and it does well in playtesting except when against bonfires and the like.

Other than Negate , which I may sideboard but don't like, is there anything better or more versatile that may work in mainboard?

There's Golgari Charm for regeneration but it includes black. Maybe Chromatic Lantern will help and Witchbane Orb for you, the player

I see you already have Chromatic Lantern in there. So the other 2 cards will probably help

when they tap out for a miracled bonfire, just pay 2 for a Syncopate and counter it.
