what kind of cards can i use to help screw over a Quest for the Holy Relic deck?
You know, that one deck that gets bad-ass equipments out like Argentum Armor or Sword of Body and Mind
what cards totally disrupt the flow of that deck?
okay what would you suggest for my personal deck?
thrumming-strike
i use that deck for tournaments and there are at least two or three players that play Quest deck. One plays mono-white and the other plays blue white control Quest
by turn one they usually have Quest for the Holy Relic out and then by turn two they have 4 memnites and an ornithopter out.
its not like i can mana leak or negate it because with Quest its "casting" creature not "when creature is on the battlefield"

I'd reccomend playing Acidic Slime in the sideboard if you're playing green, gets rid of the Quest and anything the Quest may grab.
Personally I haven't been impressed the 3+ times I've played against the deck, maybe I was just a bad matchup for it, but it seems meh and with a bad showing at states I think it'll be on it's way out. Argentum Armor is nice but I don't think it's such a threat that it wins games. Sword of Body and Mind is obviously nuts against and G or U deck that cant remove it, but green at least has plenty of answers since you can still target the equipment itself.

i play a blue/black infect deck
the Quest decks i've played against are killer, considering the costs of the creatures, and how easy it is to get Quest out.
they don't even need that much land because if you doomblade one of their creatures equipped with Argentum Armor, you think they'll have to pay 6 to attach Argentum, but instead, they just play kor-outfitters and get a free attach

why not play Into the Roil in your sideboard/deck.
then when your opponent sacs his quest to grab argentum armor or such then you snicker and bounce the hefty equipment back to their hand making them waste their precious quest and allowing you to counter the equipment later.
or you could just Unsummon the creature that the equipment is trying to attach to this should also work when they play kor outfitter as well.

yeah i was thinking of Unsummons, but then that would just fuel their Quest Counters

well into the roil (or Disperse ) can bounce the equipment which would make the quest a complicated tutor or bounce the quest effectively resetting it. if neccesary it can bounce a creature. imo disperse and into the roil are much better than unsummon

yeah i'm probably going to sideboard disperse i have those, i don't have into the roil

Into the Roil is a strictly better card than Disperse as it gives you options mid to late game for extra card draw.

yeah the thing is though, i don't have Into the Roil s :(

If possible, I would also suggest running Ratchet Bomb . Since most of their cards that you want to kill are in the 1-2 cmc range, it should usually score you 2+ permanents each time. Just make sure to play around it and you are good.

I'm currently testing a mono-white control deck and simultaneously building a Weenie Quest deck. Recently, I've been testing them against each other and found the same problems. Ratchet bomb is the fastest solution I've found.
Weenie Quest with a turn 1 Quest for the Holy Relic will probably follow it with an Ornithopter , Memnite , or both. Either of those will be the creature that dons the Argentum Armor on the following turn because they're not summon sick. Assuming you were on the play, you can drop the Ratchet Bomb at the start of turn 2, and tap it to blow away all 0 mana creatures. This leaves the Weenie player with nothing to return to hand when casting Glint Hawk or Kor Skyfisher . (Well, the Skyfisher can return a land, but that's risky.) It ain't much, but it buys you a turn or two and the ability to get some lands out.

What about Demystify ?, you could use it at the Quest for the Holy Relic , maybe Silence could help to hold the deck until you got 5~6 mana, it's where you could win the game, take the control of the equipments (Volition Reins )... This WW deck is really a problem, I'm using Demystify , Silence , Divine Offering and Leonin Relic-Warder just to hold the deck. Try to combine Blue Counters and White destroiers to kick this deck :).

those all work as well though Volition Reins will be too slow to be effective against ww quest. though this deck hasnt really impressed me

lol this was a really old post of mine.
my way of dealing with Quest when using my Goblins Besieged deck is to sideboard in Shatter and Crush and Pyroclasm
they don't have anything like Chimeric Mass in that deck, and they usually end up spending a Day of Judgment for the board anyway.

im sure cards like card:Nature's Claim, Naturalize , and Shatter work just fine as well as any other enchantment and artifact hate will disrupt it just fine.
even creature removal can be useful to disrupt this deck temporarily
