So, Arc Trail in a T2 setting, has anyone had any experience with it? Is it any good? Would you run it over Burst Lightning ?

I got owned by it once! I think it's great early game removal against aggro or weenies, or to kiill mana ramping elves etc. I would definitely take it over Burst Lightning , but maybe have the sideboard option of Flame Slash in case you're going up against bigger critters.

oooohhhhh yeah....

i was playing my friend Brandan, me using an earlier version of my beta-vampire-allies-(unfinished) and he using a nifty pure Scars U/R Myr Burn deck he drafted for our League Season.

I had a Vampire Nighthawk out, and a Blood Seeker and all he had was a Embersmith . I passed turn, and watched him clear my entire field by dropping an Iron Myr , activating Embersmith 's ability to deal 1 damage to Vampire Nighthawk getting it to 2/2. Then he played Arc Trail to kill the weakened Vampire Nighthawk and Blood Seeker in one blow.

I've been seeing decks run 2-3 Arcs and 2-3 Burst. It's good to have both early and late-game removal capability.

The only reason I don't run Arc Trail is because it's a sorcery. That really stinks. Being able to Burst Lightning in response for the win is something I don't trade lightly.

If you're running a card:Chandra's Spitfire or even a Kiln Fiend deck, it's a lot more viable, but anything like 3CC or splash decks are better served with Burst Lightning .

Forked Bolt on the other hand, I find to be dynamite. Even though it's a sorcery, I'm still getting the 2 damage for 1 mana guarantee.
