Augur or Alchemy?

Deck Help forum

Which do you think is more viable in my Grixis control deck? Augur of Bolas or Forbidden Alchemy ?

what I see as pros/cons of both.

Augur:Pros:Drops for 2

1/3 Body

Nets a Spell (Ideally)

Cons:Can only net an instant or sorcery - Occasional Scratch

Lost cards go on bottom of library

Alchemy:Pros:Instant speed

Flashback

digs 1 card deeper

Nets anything of my choice. - Can never scratch

Cons:Cards go to the graveyard (occasional pro /w Snapcaster)

Is a spell; has no body defensively

The big reason I'm looking between them is the fact that Augur gives me a spell and a body as opposed to Alchemy netting any card in its pull.

Did I miss any pros/cons? And what do you think is the better choice?

My meta is pretty spread out, just so you know..

I'd personally pick forbidden alchemy. With Augur of Bolas, the body isn't terribly important with a control deck, you only get to use him once, you have to REVEAL the card, and you do it on your turn, and you could be putting Olivia or Niv-Mizzet on the bottom. With alchemy, if you need an answer right then and there, you could potentially get it. Augur can't let to you react as much. I think that the ability to react with Forbidden Alchemy put is above the prediction that Augur needs

That sounds... sound. My main reason for considering the augur was he may have some relevance vs. RDW or Zombies, being able to block most of them safely. My first loss with my deck was against RDW. However, this was also before the inclusion of Nighthawk; which SHOULD solve that problem, in retrospect..
