I'm looking for help with my Azorious Midrange deck. I have an older version that runs pretty well, but I'd like to add Render Silent and Unsummon . This would necessitate removing some creatures negating a lot of the possibilities for battalion which a lot of my creatures use. I'm looking for suggestions on any creatures to try in place of the ones I'm currently using. I'd prefer 1,2,4, and 5 cost creatures as my 3 slot is pretty full. Azorious Midrange Mark 2

Dissipate is much better than Render Silent It is especially relevant in the current standard, where reanimator decks are still top-tier. Render silent is actually pretty useless in standard, and you would be better off using Dissipate

I haven't noticed my meta game having that many re-animator decks in all honesty. I'd like to try both and see which one I prefer.

alright but I can't really think of a situation where render silent is better. I'd go for Dissipate or even Syncopate , depending.

I could see Render Silent being useful to keep them from trying to play multiple creatures on a turn like my friend's green ramp deck does. It slows them down by a turn. It's similarly effective against control decks that want to do things on your turn. At least in my opinion. I've yet to really playtest it and could be very wrong.

First of all: until rotation, Dissipate is much better than Render Silent . It's not just Unburial Rites ; it's Snapcaster Mage , Lingering Souls , etc. Most decks in the format have relevant graveyard interaction, while Render Silent 's Silence effect will rarely be relevant.

Second: you have way too few creatures. Champion of the Parish and Boros Elite fit in a 25-30 creature, low-curve, aggro humans deck, while Detention Sphere and counterspells fit in a control deck. So I would either drop the creatures and Unsummon s and Inaction Injunction s and add Supreme Verdict , Sphinx's Revelation , Think Twice , Augur of Bolas , Azorius Charm , etc.

Or, drop the Render Silent , Inaction Injunction , and Detention Sphere , and add Doomed Traveler , Precinct Captain , Elite Inquisitor , and maybe Deputy of Acquittals .

Any suggestions for creatures? That's really my only win condition is to deal damage directly to the player.
