Bant Heroic

Deck Help forum

Hello Everyone, I have a standard legal, yet casual, bant heroic deck I am looking for thoughts on... nothing specific, just things to think about adding in....

The deck is "Counting My Blessings"

The kind of advice I am looking for, now that I have a job finally (so i can buy singles if needed), I want to get into FNM, as well as casual play still, I have only been to 2 FNM's, and that was back before RTR when Innistrad was still legal... So basically is the bant deck I have capable of going against the meta, or should I hold off and wait....

Please playtest the deck and suggest things to change... Thanks in advance.

once again the deck is "Counting My Blessings"

How much of a budget do you have? I can see a bunch of things to upgrade, but it won't be cheap to make this FNM competitive.

I'll leave some more specific info on the deck page, but here is a link to my own Bant Hexproof/Heroic Deck: Scoutin' Your Face With My Ethereal Armor-ed Fist, if you want some inspiration.

I just started working, but once my paychecks start, I will probably want a budget of maybe $80 or less... Idk if that is too low, I mean if i leave out the shocks, I can use the Temples and Gates as they tend to be cheaper, but I want to try to stay away from the more expensive stuff for now...

I really can't recommend doing three colors, especially aggro three colors, if you aren't running the full 12 shocks. Try to cut back one of your colors if you want to keep it budget.

Something to keep in mind is that if you do end up getting shocks you will be able to use them in modern after rotation. Also you can snag a playset for $30 or less on Ebay now and in a year or so they'll be worth approx $60. Most of the cards you want for a heroic deck can be acquired for free by participating in a few drafts, a lot of people who play regularly already have their 4x of commons and uncommons and give the ones they draft away when it's over. Food for thought.
