Basic Lands in Deck builder?

Deck Help forum

Sorry to be such a noob, this is my first post. I wanted to try out the deck builder on this site, but when I put Swamp and Plains in my mainboard, it said it cannot find any cards named that. I'm sure this is just a simple mistake, but I can't figure it out...

The deck builder assumes that you know what the basic lands are and how to spell them, so you have to type them into the entry area itself instead of the search.

K I did that, but when I go "save and continue editing," I get an error saying...

Okay I guess I am just a noob, for some reason it's not giving me an error this time. Thanks for the help though haha.

when building a deck i usually use a program called magic workstation. The evaluation copy would serve your needs. If it seems good I go out and buy the cards and run it in an actual game and see how it is and I will sometimes upload it on here. Or you could do my fave way and go through cards you already own and build a deck with those. I typically know what im puting up so I dont use the workstation on this site.

Ty ninja king, I've been using the deck builder with great success to test out some of my ideas. I use the playtest function. Is there anything that magic workstation provides that this site does not? Once I solved my small problem, this site has been awesome for me.

It has a lot of features. I believe it has multiplayer capeabilitys so if you have multiple computers and everything you need you can play against others. I dont know how it works for online usage. The version you pay for has a solitare testing mode that you can use to run two of your decks against each other. It does not require internet access to use. I am not very fimilar with the sites deck builder stuff so I would say try it for yourself. You may even be able to use them both in conjunction with each other. Give it a try. They do have a freeware version so you don't have to pay for it and if you don't like it you don't have to use it. Since it is technically a commercial product I wont post a link to it but it is pretty easy to find.
