Honestly, I think you're giving up a ton of consistency and other power, like Mutavault
, by trying to cram these two together.
The consistency front seems especially troubling, you're trying to cram double UU color costs into 10 blue sources and likewise now you have these 6 islands to occasionally screw you out of double black at times. Magic already has a degree of variance where you loose to your mana, you want to avoid putting more chances of that occurring as much as you can.
At the very least some Temple of Deceit
should be tossed into the mana base. For instance, running 4 island, 4 Watery Grave
and 4 Temple of Deceit
would get you to a somewhat respectable 12 blue sources, and 4 islands is manageable, especially since they cast Nightveil Specter
any ways. Any double blue spell is still going to be pushing it. Dissolve
you could maybe get away with since you're not often looking to have that T3, but stuff like Tidebinder Mage
is just going to be incredibly hard to have reliably T2.

Thassa, God of the Sea should likewise probably be trimmed to 1 since only double Nightveil Specter turns her into a creature. Unfortunately the only other hybrid card is Deathcult Rogue .
