What are the best sleeves for our MTG cards.... i just ordered 200 dragon shields is that good?

Dragon Shield is supposed to be one of the best. I just use pennysleeves though. They rip/get dirty/whatever, they are super easy to replace and seem to do well enough in protecting the cards.

i heard dragon sleeves are not cut properly... is that true

what do you mean by not cut properly? I mean they are not "perfect fit", they do offer some wiggle room but not a significant amount

They leave enough room because you can double sleeve them lol.

Dragon shields are reliable and last awhile. Avoid ultra pro, they're cheap and rip after a few fnm's.

I believe he means that dragon shield sleeves are not always cut the same size. You are never guaranteed to have all of your sleeves the same size no matter what brand you buy but dragon shields are the worst. If you can get a full 100 that are cut properly though they are technically the best sleeves. My personal favorites are KMC matte sleeves with KMC perfect fits.

@vila_a23: You misspelled "best."
I've never had a problem with any of my Dragon Shields. I've certainly never had any issues with them being miscut or off-sized (the same can't be said of Ultra-Pro sleeves). Dragon Shields are also the only sleeves I can find that are sold in large enough packages to handle an EDH deck with one box - most other sleeves only come in boxes/packets of 50-80, meaning you have to buy two sets to sleeve one EDH deck.
KMC sleeves are also high quality and they're worth looking into.

KMC matte sleeves are awesome, in my opinion. Dragon shields will do you fine as well. Most complaints about Dragon Shields that I hear relate to their tendency to get "dirtier than a hobo in a back alley."
I have not had this problem.

Most of the people with grime on their sleeves are unclean themselves; there are several unbathed neckbeards at my LGS who are the only ones to have dirt caked onto their sleeves. I've seen them play with dirty Ultra-Pros and KMCs, but I will admit the Dragon Shields hold the dirt more consistently.

I haven't had this problem but then again I keep my decks in a set of Dragon Shields, inside a clear plastic 100 card box thing made by ultra-pro, and then in a Fat Pack box. Also, having 7 EDH decks means that I rotate through them frequently enough to prevent excess wear.
One of the nice things about my Dragon Shields is that all of mine have come with 4-5 extra sleeves. Really handy if you expect breakage.
For FNM I've found that the ultra-pro matte ones are really decent for the price you pay for them.

@Epochalyptik: I'm not speaking from experience on dragon shield sleeves. Just off of horror stories that I have heard from friends. I have never actually bought dragon shield sleeves because I'm cheap and just go for kmc sleeves. I have read blogs about dragon shield sleeves though that have complaints about dragon shields being off-sized. I have never had problems with Ultra-Pro or KMC sleeves about sizing or cut differences but I refuse to buy ultra-pro anymore because they just don't last long enough. It is also true that Dragon shields are the only quality sleeves that come in packages of 100. Which makes them the best choice for EDH players by far just because of the money you save while still keeping great quality.

@Epochalyptik Very, very true! I almost spit out my drink :P

This thread just reminded me that I need to sleeve up 3 edh decks and 2 60 card decks.
November 12, 2012 9:34 p.m.
@Ohthenoises: I only keep 3 decks sleeved up at a time, my standard deck, my modern deck, and my edh deck. If I want to change what deck I am playing for that format then I just switch out the sleeves and put the old deck in my trade binder. I also keep them the same color so that way I only have to have one extra pack of sleeves. I do that so I don't have to worry about having sleeves all the time :3

I keep all of mine together. I hate playing over and over with the same decks. I like playing a variety of deck styles and wincons. Plus if I put them away each time that would mean that I have to put away then re-find over 600+ cards. Then I'd have to spend 10 min sleeving the deck up.
It's fun to have just won from a really cruel combo like Bond/Blood and then to keep things fun go play Heartless Hidetsugu or Omnath, Locus of Mana for a change of pace.

I like Dragon Shields.
One time my dogs got at my cards. I got pissed, but it was a damned good thing they were in those Dragon Shields. I only needed to replace three of the 60 cards.

This is the cheapest/best way I have found for more "permenant" storage on my decks.
Durable and resilient and 115+ sleeved cards fit easily. (Haven't tried with double sleeving but I'm sure they fit.)

@Ohthenoises: They'll fit a 100-card double-sleeved EDH deck quite nicely. You may have to squeeze the air out of your sleeves to fit them, but it works.

I love those things. Dropped them on a cement floor (garage) and all I got was a chip the size of the little arch in the bottom. It doesn't even compromise the integrity of the case...

I have brown. They're still pretty good sleeves that I highly recommend.
