I've gone 3-X for the past month. Got 4-0 and first place at the FNM before all of that. But honestly, being between 6th-3rd, I can't complain. I've defiantly gotten much better with the deck since my first games with The Aristocrats, Act 2.7.

Stygian333 does Doomed Traveler and Lingering Souls usually provide you with enough disposible creatures? because if so solid deck man.

I've built a pretty solid deck around enchantments and such using Orzhov colors, and it has held up really well against some standard-competitive decks as of late, the deck is Enchanting Extortion. I know there isn't a lot of extortion in it now, but there used to be and I just haven't bothered to change the name haha.

An interesting take on an old deck this is my brew of a Junk enchantment/hexproof deck. the version that will be linked is my post-rotation version that i have not tested yet. My pre-rotataion deck has done very well in tourneys (12th out of 64 at a super IQ and wins in small 8-man tourneys consistantly). I like the deck alot and cant wait to see how the so called "enchantment set/block" Theros will affect this deck.

rakdosrunner, T1: Land, Champion of the Parish, T2: Land, Burning Tree, Mayor/Flinthoof Boar/Burning Tree/ Or any other 2 drop, most of those will trigger Champion and that allows you too swing for a bit then the next turn your board state is just crazy so you can just swing for large numbers.

irjeff, I have actually been looking at this deck of your for a bit now on and off, and I realized I never +1 it. I should probably go do that, the deck is great!

xkaze same to you, I love brews. They remind me that there is still much out there, and the fun in their discovery/creation.

Have you tried playing mine at all? It is fun to play with, but it is annoying as can be to go against. My best moment with it was winning when I was at 2 life because I managed to create 2 Sorin emblems within one turn to buff all of my tokens and Obzedat up to deal lethal to my opponent out of nowhere haha.

I have, its quite a good feeling to feel like your an impenetrable fortress. Two weeks ago against RDW I went 2-1 against him, each match I won at one point I was at 1 life! Game three I was at 3 life, knowing what was in his hand I shocked myself to play an Angel of Serenity removing his army. The following turn I brought out a Vizkopa Guildmage to putting me out of lethal range and securing my victory. It was a great round.

Fleetfiend my friend has been trying to make a Rubblebelt Raiders
deck work since gatecrash's release, so I can certainly appreciate a brew involving raiders of the lost arc.

irjeff Yeah, they are one of my favorite cards currently in standard. The deck is still a little bit wishy-washy because I've been holding hard to the theme, but I enjoy it, heh.

Junk Reanimator Went 4-0 and got 1st place at my last LCG tourney. My favorite playstyle is anything that utilizes the graveyard and my favorite mechanic is Sacrifice. While Junk reanimator is my best build my favorite from the meta is Junk Aristocrats, and yes Junk is my favorite color group as well.

That's great, the close games are always the best, I am never too fond of a blowout match.

No, you will not, come on, just irritate your opponent by keep removing their things

SwiftDeath check out my 4 color control deck! It has a reanimator theme similar to that of solar flare. It might be something you would like playing.

irjeff I did look at your deck but I don't think it is good for competitive play because although it does have a good control output certain cards like Vizkopa Guildmage , Lavinia of the Tenth , Orzhov Keyrune and the sideboard Reap Intellect take up key spots on the curve that is better suited to other cards that help with your wincon more. I also hate the curve. more times then not you will be stuck with a no play turn. 19 out of 35 of your cards are cmc 4 or more and that is going to hurt you against many matchups like if you keep a hand and your opponent waits for you to tap out to cast your Ral Zarek and then Rakdos's Return for 5 to take out your planeswalker and your hand. Jund can and will do this with 4 farseek's, keyrunes, and 2 arbor elfs mainboard. 5 mana turn 4 is extreamly easy for a lot of decks and your deck is to slow to contend with a lot of matchups your best matchup is the mirror/(control) and even they have more versitality for answers.
August 8, 2013 6:09 p.m.
I think your looking at it in a bad way. First off I have played many rounds against jund at FNMs (5 or 6 times) and have only lost 1 round due to Kessig Wolf Run . None of those games was the situation you described played out. True the curve is quite high, but even when put against RDW, boros aggro, and Gruul aggro the deck holds them off. Many decks currently are creature based, so the removal is focused on hindering these strategies.
Just because a card does not see much competitive play does not mean a card is bad, It just means that the card has not found a place in a deck. This is a brew, not a cookie-cutter deck from the last tournament. It has slowly been adapted and tuned to the meta it is played in. You underrate Lavinia of the Tenth but she is actually quite good against decks like jund. Olivia, Bonfire, Mizzium, Huntmaster all fall short when trying to deal with her.
In the end it comes down to what you are comfortable playing, playing it to the best of your abilities, outplaying your opponent, and a little luck.

Idk SwiftDeath I play tested it a couple times and it seemed to pull a better stack then what you described.
But at the same time irjeff I think the deck needs work. It seems its more of a situational deck. Like if you don't get the EXACT pulls you need then it seems to be lackluster.
Still a great deck though. and I like the ideas with Lavinia of the Tenth . She would literally detain every card in my deck lol so it can be a real cockblock.
August 8, 2013 11:16 p.m.
Yah I am not saying its the best deck ever, specially since that version is for after rotation missing whatever is good from Theros. rakdosrunner I have certainly had those games before, and they are pretty devastating.

I agree that Lavinia is a good card and that it is great against certain matchups I just think at 5 mana it makes better sideboard tech then mainboard. I still stand by my previous statement that the curve needs work and against decks that are a bit faster you will be pressured early. I do believe that once they exhaust their hand your favored but that is the case against most matchups unless your against control when they are running dig spells. I did a number of hand draws and found I would usually mulligan to 5-6 from having either to much land or to many high cost spells and not able to do anything until turn 3. In matches the deck plays nice and it does work but it is not as consistent as I was hoping. Consistency is the most important factor I look at when deck building. If the deck plays well for you then you don't need to change anything but I had issues with it. Keep in mind that might just be because my playstyle is different then yours so I probably played the deck differently then you would've. This is all my personal opinion and I hope the deck does well for you in tourneys.

I just built a Golgari deck that's a good bit of fun. Agro and some good lategame potential for when that fails.
