Bounce lands or Vivid lands?
Deck Help forum

In my Mimeopalsm edh deck; The Ooze of Doom, I've been running the 3 vivid lands in my colors (i.e) Vivid Creek . I'm starting to fall out of love with them though. Their fixing only works twice, and the tapped part hurts.
I was thinking though, of adding in the ravnica "bounce lands", like Simic Growth Chamber , Those 3 lands, as well as Temple of the False God , can untap and ramp with Voyaging Satyr Should I go with that, or just stick to the vivid lands and Sylvan Caryatid ?
Also, while I'm asking, what are some good, cheap lands I can throw in that I haven't already?

Why not both? Vivid lands first, use their counters and then bounce them and get those counters back.

I like the vivid lands much better. Other "cheap" lands are the innistrad duals and the Scars duals (like Darkslick Shores )

I'm with CaveShinobi: Use both types. Both types are slow lands anyway as they enter the battlefield tapped.
However, if you cannot afford to have so many slow lands, and you usually don't run out of "correct-colored mana", then I suggest you'd go with the bounce lands.
Best of luck!

@CaveShinobi, I've thought of that, but I want to keep the number of lands that come in tapped low. Though would the vivid lands be better than guild gates?
and @MortisAngelus, Yes, the intent was to speed up the deck a little while staying in budget range. I don't really have many color problems, but one of the players in my group runs Thalia, Guardian of Thraben , and other effects that increase my mana costs. He's not the biggest threat either, so it puts me in a tough spot of having to deal with him while fighting off the bigger threats.
@pingpongball120, I kind of forgot about Darkslick Shores , lol. Too bad there aren't any B/G and U/G of that cycle. Thanks, I might try that out.

I honestly don't appreciate either. With Hinterland Harbor , Drowned Catacomb , and Woodland Cemetery , then the shock-lands in these colors, you don't really need a whole lot more than that as you have access to Green and spells like Farseek , Rampant Growth , Nature's Lore , Skyshroud Claim , Cultivate , Kodama's Reach , Explosive Vegetation , etc.

@zandl: You pretty much forgot, or missed, the topic creator's wish to keep this "cheap". Those lands you mention are premium lands only beaten by shock lands (unless talking special lands like wastelands of course). Darkslick Shores are on the edge if talking "cheap".
However, if one can afford all those land cards, then do get them; I want them too! =)

A Drowned Catacomb costs $2 and the other two aren't much higher. If you're going to get into EDH, you should really invest at least $50 into buying the lands for the colors you intend on playing with. Yeah, shock-lands are somewhat more expensive, but they're also very good with the likes of Farseek , Nature's Lore , and Skyshroud Claim . Also, you'd probably already have a handful if you play Standard.

For the record, I already own Overgrown Tomb , Watery Grave , Breeding Pool , Hinterland Harbor , Drowned Catacomb , and Woodland Cemetery , the 3x shock lands and check lands that are in my colors.
They help a lot. But in a deck with 36 lands, you can't bank on just 6 of them, especially in EDH.

Check out my newest EDH deck's land-base for reference:
I don't use any of the bounce lands or Vivid Lands. Bounce lands just seem too slow to me (and make you really susceptible to early land-destruction) while the Vivid lands, IMHO, are a pain to keep track of and wind up just being cumbersome.

If you're only using two colors, don't use Vivid lands. The Alara block lands (Seaside Citadel , e.g.). If they're going to come in tapped anyway . .
If you're not using 3 shard colors, like if you're doing W/U/R, then you're probably better off with gates.

I really like the bounce lands myself. I vote bounce.
