Hey everyone i'm trying to fix my zombie deck up to be a bit more efficient it doesn't seem to flow as well as i'd like any suggestions would be brilliant

thats my deck tell me what you think
Now, as far as specific cards go, here are a few suggestions.
Reap the Seagraf - Lose it. Not enough bang for the mana buck. For one more B you get one more zombie with Moan of the Unhallowed
Unbreathing Horde - I notice you only have one and I would suggest considering adding one or two more. This card won't win you the game but it will sure help you take a beating while you try to get your army built up. And, when you remove all his counters, if you have a Diregraf Captain out he will still be a 1/1 that will prevent all damage that he blocks (basically indestructible).
Endless Ranks of the Dead - I love this card and I REALLY wanted it to work but it pretty much never has for me. It really depends on the kind of decks you are playing against but I've never been able to get a zombie or two out of this because by the time I have the mana to pay for it (and enough other zombies to have it generate tokens) I'm well on my way to being dead.
Lastly I want to address your mana. I notice you don't have any dual color lands which I can totally understand considering the outrageous costs of some of the standard U/B lands. However, you may have trouble playing cards with BB or UU in their mana cost early on like Stitched Drake or Highborn Ghoul . So I would suggest either trying to avoid cards like this or trying to find some U/B lands. Check out Jwar Isle Refuge if you aren't interested in keeping the deck standard.
Anyway, hope some of this helps!

I'm also formatting a zombie deck. I was reading some articles about Star City tournments and Grand Prix stuff and came across Grand Prix Lille. Richard Parker ran a U/B Zombie deck that went 14-0! I took this and rearranged it a bit to make it more affordable but still competative.
Here is the link to Richard Parker's deck:http://www.mtgtop8.com/event?e=2562
here is the link to the deck I've createdhttp://www.mtgfanatic.com/Decks/ViewDeck.aspx?ID=136452&Page=1&PageSize=25
I may add the phantasmal images if I can get my hands on four of them. I'd have to take out the grave titan and and skinrender. I got lucky and bought Phyrexian obliterators when they dropped to like $11 a few months ago.
Hopefully this can give you some inspiration and ideas for your U/B zombie deck.
Tharian says... #2
I have been struggling with the B and U/B zombie idea for quite a while now. I have gone through quite a few deck iterations and am far from perfecting it but I will share what I've figured out so far.
The number one problem I've had is speed. It just takes too many turns to get enough zombies out to really be a threat. Cards like Zombie Apocalypse
and Army of the Damned
look great in theory but the number of times I've had that much mana out before I was dead is 0. So, that being said, I've tried to focus on getting out more cheap, powerful zombies whenever possible. Plenty of Diregraf Captain
s and Cemetery Reaper
s help beef up a small force quickly.
Now, let's talk about deck subtypes. There are many directions the zombie deck can go. The first one I tried was the self-mill zombie deck. This deck uses cards like Screeching Skaab
, Armored Skaab
, Forbidden Alchemy
in order to fill your card with some creatures so that you can cast the larger, more intimidating zombies like Skaab Ruinator
or Stitched Drake
.
Another subtype would be the opponent milling zombie deck. Here you can use a number of things (Thought Scour
, Chill of Foreboding
, Increasing Confusion
, Trepanation Blade
, Undead Alchemist
) to mill through your opponents cards. If you're lucky enough to get undead alchemist out on turn four, you can start building your zombie army quickly in the process as each milled creature card equals a new 2/2 zombie for you.
These are just a couple of ideas, there are certainly other specialized directions you could go with a U/B zombie deck but I won't explain all of them. Judging by your cardlist, it looks like you haven't completely narrowed your deck down to one method or the the other. So, my first suggestion would be to pick one and stick with it. You want (almost) every card you draw to help you move towards one common goal. For example, you might not want your Undead Alchemist
milling your opponent instead of dealing damage to him/her unless your deck is set up for this.
