Theros Budget - Tormented Cackler Aggro
So before Theros rotation I had a fun cheap mono black exalted deck with Tormented Soul . I am a fairly casual player but I do like going to drafts and FNM. Anyhow, since all my exalted stuff rotated, I have been trying to come up with a similarly super cheap fun and quick deck. Fortunately, my favorite one drop, Tormented Soul , gets reborn as Tormented Hero !!
The mana curve is super low. Maybe too low? You can read the ideal hand strategy in the deck link, but when I tested it against a Theros event deck last night, it did well with the not ideal hand.
I am not sure about Slitherhead in this deck, but I love being able to consistently hit a 1 drop. The buff spells ideally go on Tormented Hero for the heroic life drain, but Rakdos Cackler is ok too.
Spike Jester has already been recommended so I need to see if I can get some, but I think I like Rakdos Shred-Freak slightly more just because it is easier to cast as a hybrid card, important since I don't have shock lands and guildgates I think are too slow for this.
Let me know what you guys think. I'm definitely thinking trying to pick up some copies of Immortal Servitude because it could work well.
Also I am not good with sideboard construction, so if you have any advice there...

Thanks, I think you are right about putting in Boon of Erebos and I think I will also consider going down to 20 land, among your other suggestions.

Looks like fun, granted a single removal spell will be a nightmare though. A few thoughts I had looking at it -
The only problem I see with Immortal Servitude is you don't actually have that many creatures, and by the time you cast it getting back a bunch of 1 drops just isn't going to usually matter. Better to just be faster than to try and be resilient.
Boon of Erebos should likely be in the 75, just so you are not so screwed by removal.
I'd actually take the Doom Blade out and run as much burn removal as you can. It seems like this deck will need those last few points of burn often.
Akroan Crusader or Firedrinker Satyr are likely better than Slitherhead and Rakdos Shred-Freak . You really want to hit just any 1 drop.
22 lands is probably 2 or 3 too many, you can afford to ride the line here.
Sideboard should likely focus on the matches you know are bad. Right now it's just a bunch of removal, but the decks you're going to want to be sideboarding most against are the removal heavy control and mid-range decks that run few creatures. So I'd focus more on even bringing in some of the creatures like Rakdos Shred-Freak and Spike Jester . You want a density of threats to make their removal worse instead of all the combat tricks and auras and basically side into a normal aggro deck.
