Buying back the Bloodrush

Deck Help forum

Posted on July 2, 2013, 9:18 p.m. by brownkidd

I came across a cool little interaction between Disentomb and Ghor-Clan Rampager while building an Infect deck a while back, and now I'm super into the idea of buying back Bloodrush creatures in a standard Jund deck for FNM.

Here's the deck: Boneyard Bloodrush.

I currently have Rancor in it, but I'll more than likely wind up taking it out unless it gets reprinted in M14.

Comments and suggestions greatly appreciated.

you can buy back a bloodrushed creature, but you want be able to bloodrush that creature again in the same turn unless you find a way to cast Disentomb as an instant (Alchemist's Refuge )

Yeah, instant speed would be sick, but it's still nice being able to reuse Ghor-Clan Rampager over and over again. pyrewild shaman would definitely fit the concept of the deck, but I'd rather pay 1 mana to bring a creature back that can give +4/+4 and trample instead of paying 3 for +3/+1 under the condition that one of my creatures have dealt combat damage. Now, if the Shaman gave first strike or trample, then that'd be a totally different story.

just have the bloodrushed creature have first strike or double strike in the first place

If you are playing non standard, Oversold Cemetery is rather awesome at this

, but that's a foregone conclusion, you should always cast bloodrush bilities after blockers have been declared, and so you buff the ones that aren't blocked.

Yes, but this is a way to keep your best bloodrush creatures (i.e. Ghor-Clan Rampager in your hand at all times. Getting more mileage out of an already useful combat trick is never a bad thing. If you only have one Rampager in your opening hand, it's pretty comforting to also have a Disentomb in that hand as well. You could potentially bloodrush every turn if your mana allows it and the game doesn't drag out too long.

@Rayenous Holy crap that's rude! LOVE IT! I might have to make a reanimator bloodrush deck with Treasury Thrull now.
