Here's a deck I threw together with what I already have.

Does flashback as a mechanic in standard make this whole idea useless?

Discard/Mill in standard is pretty easy and with little tinkering can be pretty amazing, even with flashback, add some land destruction and you are golden.

I agree with Epochalyptik. Discarding is hard (especially against Zombies) due to the Flashback. You COULD run a couple of Nihil Spellbomb 's to remove their graveyard from play :)
Milling is probably the better way to go especially with cards like Surgical Extraction that can remove their biggest threats from their hand/deck so you can save your counters for other cards.

Discard in curent standard is more of an additional effect to other decks. Dedicated discard is difficult to pull off. In current standard you are spending a significant amount of mana trading a card in your hand for a card in theirs without recovering your cards lost.
At the same time your opponent is flashing back cards and playing others. You may hinder them a lot but without something to defend yourself its difficult.
Liliana's Caress is no longer in standard and that card alone would make a dedicated discard viable right now, but without it its difficult to make a decent deck out of discard.

Flashback certainly hinders the usefulness of discard in general.
I think another problem here is that you're too focused on using discard sorceries that only hit one card. These spells are just too limited and cost too much of your early-game mana to be worth it. They're meant to be support spells that are integrated into a larger control suite, usually alongside counterspells.
