Cards that trick creatures into play

Deck Help forum

Hey gang, I'm looking for some cards that allow you to trick creatures into play for cheaper than their respective mana costs, i.e. Elvish Piper ... I'm having difficulty finding similar cards. Help please :D

but seriously what other specifications are you looking for as in color restrictions and where are you cheating them from ie. hand, library, exile or graveyard. with your current request there is to many different cards to chose from that don't have that effect when search under text contains Put Creature Play/Battlefield.

I think you mean "cheat" instead of trick.

How about Sneak Attack ?

Quicksilver Amulet especially for the really high cost creatures, and, it's artifact so any color deck can support it.

u hate that card.

by now, probably everyone knows my favorite of Kaalia of the Vast . but what are your color restrictions/format/type of deck?

Yeah, "cheat" is what I meant.

I'm working on a red/green Commander deck with a lot of high cost creatures, looking into easier ways to get them into play for when mana is scarce. I really like Quicksilver Amulet , and am interested in cards with similar effects. I can see Sneak Attack working too, but not to keep on them being sacrificed at EOT.

Through the Breach but it also has the sacrifice clause.

Dragon Arch is a Quicksilver Amulet for multicolor creatures.

AEther Vial does something similar as well.

Tooth and Nail works depending on how big your creatures are.

I used Myr Turbine all the time to cheat out Myr Battlesphere . For R/G I suggest AEther Vial , Tooth and Nail , Quicksilver Amulet is great. Wild Pair .

You know what's better than using Quicksilver Amulet to cheat in a Craterhoof Behemoth ? Copying the Behemoth with Minion Reflector .

Minion Reflector doesn't let you keep creatures in play but it has a lot of uses depending on what your deck is doing.

With Sneak Attack , I believe if you end your turn with Sundial of the Infinite in response to the sacrifice effect going onto the stack, the Sundial will resolve, ending your turn, and clearing the stack letting you keep your creature. I think I read somewhere that it's because Sneak Attack creates a delayed trigger that only occurs once.

I could be wrong on this, we could use a proper ruling on it.

You said you're playing green?

Rampant Growth , Cultivate , Kodama's Reach , Explosive Vegetation , Boundless Realms .

Sakura-Tribe Elder , Yavimaya Elder , Solemn Simulacrum

That should be plenty of ramp to get you to the mana you need, even without 'cheat into play" cards.

Why cheat just 1 creature when you can cheat your entire deck onto the field. Primal Surge has won me quite a few multiplayer games with my edh deck Arien Nation.

May 3, 2013 12:05 p.m.

Yeah, sundail does that. The ruling has to do with sneak attack triggering at the beginning of your end step. With the sundial, you avoid having an end step, so the sneak attack never triggers.

There's also the Pattern of Rebirth combo with a cheap green sacrifice trigger such as Krosan Wayfarer . A turn 4 double-mana drop plus the ability to tutor for any creature and drop it onto the battlefield? I'm sold.

There's always cheap reanimate spells that combo with Entomb or Buried Alive ! Reanimate , Animate Dead , Dance of the Dead , Necromancy , Exhume . Use cards like Putrid Imp or Cabal Therapy to get them into your graveyard if they're in your hand.
