Casual

Deck Help forum

I've been looking to get back into casual, as using my standard deck is rather boring.

Does anyone have any ideas I could use to make a deck? Try to keep them rather cost-neutral.

Try a tribal deck like Knights or Soldiers. They're usually decently powerful and inexpensive.

Soul Sisters is another powerful budget deck

I was thinking about tribal decks.

I was also thinking about hybrid-color decks.

Goblins and RDW are also pretty cheap. What kind of hybrid color deck were you thinking?

I liked Green/White and Green/Red but Red/White also looked good.

Aside from the Lieges those decks don't look too expensive.

Of those two, I like Wilt-Leaf LiegeMTG Card: Wilt-Leaf Liege because Shield of the OversoulMTG Card: Shield of the Oversoul is just so good. Also I just personally like aggro/midrange haha. Balefire LiegeMTG Card: Balefire Liege lends himself a bit more to burn (RDW I mentioned before) and even combo, both of which could be pretty powerful. Lightning BoltMTG Card: Lightning Bolt you for 6? Sounds good. Hello There Punishing FireMTG Card: Punishing Fire / Grove of the BurnwillowsMTG Card: Grove of the Burnwillows

I have been running this Oversoul deck for a while now. Not very expensive, pretty competitive, and fun to play. Check it out!

Did somebody say fun, cheap tribal deck that's hilariously awesome to play? Submitted for your approval: Quest for Ula's Temple

I highly suggest grabbing an old pauper or peasant deck, as they're both (usually) fair and cheap. Another consideration is just to draft 1 or 2 times with the same colors, and make a deck that way; by doing this you get the fun of drafting and ending up with a semi-decent casual deck.

There's a buddy of mine who has a r/w kithkin tribal with Figure of DestinyMTG Card: Figure of Destiny as the centerpiece

I like ramp for casual. Some ExploreMTG Card: Explores with some Rampant GrowthMTG Card: Rampant Growths.. Joraga TreespeakerMTG Card: Joraga Treespeaker or two... drop some fatties. Plenty of high CMC creatures with good abilities, but just don't see play. After all, Chancellor of the Dross MTG Card: Chancellor of the Dross isn't bad, as long as you aren't playing competitive... and who doesn't like big creatures?
