Okay, so i have been playing MTG for awhile now. I started up again right when Innistrad came out. My friends have been playing much longer than I have. They all have Casual decks with crazy good combos. The only decks I have are Standard, which limits my play against their Casual decks. So what I am looking to do is build a Good Casual Deck. Though, i don't know a lot of older cards. This is where the TappedOut community can help me. Now i won't go crazy and just ask for any old good deck, i'll limit the field for you and let you know how i like to play a bit....My favorite colors are Black, and Blue so a Dimir deck would be the best fit for me. Exiling, Killing, Hexproof and Mill, are some of my favorite things. Also please don't suggest cards that are super expensive like Black Lotus and Jace, the Mind Sculptor. Any help would be fantastic. thank you.

if your friends like to combo then you need a way to stop them from going off on you your best bet is running a U/B control deck with Counterspell s and board control you could also splash in white so you could utilize cards like Oblivion Ring too. also just cause your deck is standard doesn't mean you can't contend with your friends I have recently looked into building standard tourney decks and I have had so much success that they even beat my other friends legacy tourney affinity, goblin, and death and taxes decks. some cards I suggest are value cards but a good list of cards if your going control would be like mtgplayer said counterspell, Tragic Slip , Doom Blade , Go for the Throat , Mana Leak , Dissipate , Grave Titan , Snapcaster Mage that ones $25 though, cantrips like Brainstorm , Ponder , Preordain , board control like Damnation , card:Black Sun's Zenith, and last you need ways to deal with artifacts and enchantments after they hit the field for this dimir doesn't have very much to offer but like i said if you splash white then you get access to Oblivion Ring , Disenchant and a lot of other options.
hopefully this helps and good luck deck building.

I'm actually in the exact same boat as you are, haha.
As far as decks go, my boyfriend ran a B/U unblockable deck, featuring Invisible Stalker , Tormented Soul , Ghastlord of Fugue , Phantom Warrior , and bookoos of equipment and enchantments such as card:Inquisitor's Flail, Mask of Avacyn , Dark Favor , etcetera to boost up one of the unblockables and deal a lot of damage, really fast.
You could also go with infect and use Blighted Agent .
I know this deck was really annoying to play against because of how hard it was to deal with. Throw in some counterspells, and you're ready to go. It's also pretty cheap to build. Most of our card pool was standard when it was built, so there is probably more you can do with it if you look around searching keywords on the Gatherer database.

Hmm, if it is casual, then I would suggest something like a pauper deck (all commons) google: dimir post, and see what u find. I would say there 4x counterspell, 4x doom blade, 4x mana leak are pretty much necessities.
