Casual Esper Control: Worth It?

Deck Help forum

So I played the Nicol Bolas deck recently from Duel Decks: Ajani vs Nicol Bolas, and let's just say...I loved it! It was fun and filled with variety, especially when playing against fairly new players, and it's the kind of super-casual thing I like to play. And control was so sadistically fun!

Thus, I am contemplating building my own deck from scratch for the very first time. This deck, while possibly a step up from that sort of deck, is trying to achieve a similar thing; survive to the middle-late game and then control the board to death. It's much slower and harder to defend with, thus giving me a challenge, but is also fairly inexpensive (about 30).

Here's the deck: Flickering Lights. Do you think the deck will be worth the money in terms of enjoyment? Is it sadistic enough whilst casual? Should I just go with a preconstructed product instead? Thoughts and opinions are welcome, guys! THINK CASUAL.

NOTE: Deck suggestions are not unwelcome but unlikely to be heeded as I have a very specific taste.

Hi,

Your deck style can only be up to you to decide. Some people think Pox is sweet to play while others find it boring. Only you can know. I suggest that you print the cards (there are little freeware programs that help you do this) and play around with it. Maybe you like the playstyle, maybe you don't. If you happen to like blinking you should perhaps add two more Venseer's.

It's up to you - playtest agains't friends and see if you like the deck and what it's missing.

Hope it helps.
