If I use Elvish Piper to put out Myojin of Life's Web does she come on with the divinity counter or no?

I am thinking not because myojin's text states she has to be played from my hand, I just am unsure about it.

The only ruling I see that would not make the Myojin hit the field without a divinity counter would be if you played it from a command zone in Commander. Seeing as it's still coming from your hand thanks to Elvish Piper , it'd still come in with the divinity counter, I believe.

The Oracle text for Myojin of Life's Web states the following:

"Myojin of Life's Web enters the battlefield with a divinity counter on it if you cast it from your hand."

As it specifically says cast (which the play wording is a forbear of) it will not come in with a Divinity counter.

okay :/ so I guess that the only way to get the divinity counter is to pay his mana cost?

I am using it in my commander and would like help on it.

Putting something onto the battlefield is a different meaning than playing or casting it.

The updated text on the wizard website is what you need to watch out for. So in this case, cheating any of those five cards in will not result in a counter on it.

Here are the rules for Elvish Piper

5/1/2007 Putting the card onto the battlefield is optional. When the ability resolves, you can choose not to.10/1/2009 A "creature card" is any card with the type Creature, even if it has other types such as Artifact, Enchantment, or Land. Older cards of type Summon are also Creature cards.

Here are the rules for Myojin of Life's Web

In a Commander game where this card is your commander, casting it from the Command zone does not count as casting it from your hand.

I don't see anything saying that Myojin doesn't come in without the divinity counter, because I am playing it from my hand.

But do I have to "Cast"(paying the cmc) it from my hand in order to get that?

Yes, to cast something, you need to pay its cost and play it from your hand (or in some special instances, the graveyard / exile). You can use cost modifiers to make it cheaper, and ramping into it with Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is a pretty easy way of getting there.

Okay, I have been thinking using Nykthos but I don't know if I get enough sources of mana. Also it's a tricolor deck with Mayael the Anima as my commander.

You can check it out before.
