Co-worker wants to build Oloro
Deck Help forum

Alright so here is the deal, I have a co-worker who is coming back into magic and he bought the Esper C13 deck. He loves it and more importantly Oloro, Ageless Ascetic . (sidenote obviously EDH format if you haven't been able to tell) I dunno his budget but I am scouring both of Epocs staples lists on his behalf (not a member). He's telling me he wants to "win without ever having to swing, gain life and damage without attacking." SO what do you all suggest for this? I know Tutors/exquisite blood/[[sanguine bond are ones to go with. He uses Ensnaring Bridge since he doesn't care about having limited hand size, but I think that this is the wrong route (especially in Esper colours) I', thinking Norn's Annex and Propaganda would be better options as well. Thanks in advance!
Update: He sent me a list of things he's considering, I'm trying to get the list as it is right now, but with what he has given me and what he told me I made this prototype deck to make things easier. Please give me all suggestions you can give to make his idea possible.
And thanks Tradeylouish I never heard of "pillowfort" before lol I'll pass on the memo.

I don't think that Ensnaring Bridge
would be a good option if he is starting from the Eternal Bargain C13 pre-fab. I have it and when I play my problem is I can't take all the opportunities I have to draw or else I would discard half my deck.
I think propaganda effects ((Ghostly Prison
, Koskun Falls
, Windborn Muse
, and of course Propaganda
are the Esper color ones) and the Crawlspace
that comes with that deck would be the better ways to make him hard to attack.
There is also the ever classic Mystic Decree
coupled with Magus of the Moat
, Stormtide Leviathan
, or if money is no object Moat
.
As for winning without swinging I guess he could Exsanguinate
, extort, or mill his way to victory

Felidar Sovereign and Test of Endurance are probably your best bets for winning without attacking in that strategy.
You can also use Norn's Annex as more pillowfort in Esper colours. See also Silent Arbiter and maybe even Blazing Archon

I forgot about winning off of life total, it would be so much easier in a format that starts you off at 40.
I forgot to mention that the Thopter Foundry
and Sword of the Meek
synergy is worth putting in there because even if he isn't going to use Ashnod's Altar
or Krark-Clan Ironworks
to go infinite getting a 1/1 to chump with and gaining 1 life for 1 colorless is a pretty good deal.

I've gotten the deck list he has and made some tweaks all the info is in the deck list so let's help him build a killer deck :)

It sounds like your co-worker may be interested in a "pillowfort" strategy, an established archetype in EDH. You may find this thread helpful. A Google search of "pillowfort EDH" will yield more ideas.
