the past week i have been trying every form of standard control one that can keep up with fast paced mono red to midrange like g/w, r/g or naya and grixis is the only one that can seem to survive those quick mono red or whites tell me what you think

I do fairly well with my Rock Lobster Party. The Sylvan Caryatid s are amazing to relieve some of the early pressure.

a lot of the SCG open matches feature control vs mono red, involved a comment of turn 4 verdict or basically lose, which was proving true a lot of the time.

grixis and american have a little more early game they can work with prior to turn 4, but basically you need to just whip the board as often as possible from what i saw, or kill as many creatures as possible. most of the top 16 decks where a form of control but overall winner was still mono red

Mono red is generally a good matchup for UW control right now and that was true in the SCGopen last weekend.
