Justice is Served got redesigned after hearing some feedback. My problem was that I was stuck between two styles of play and my efforts were spread too thin. Now I try to lean more towards control and finishing the game off with Battalion, but what do you think? Haven't had a chance to play test yet but I'd like to hear feedback from people who run midrange better than I do.

Control and battalion are still contradictory. Control decks typically want to keep their resources available for counterspells, removal, and flashcasting. The battalion approach forces you to commit your resources to playing creatures, which means you're shorting yourself on your ability to respond to threats during your opponent's turn.

If you want to finish off with a battalion style approach, use just a single card like Assemble the Legion to do it (put about two/three copies in the deck). Otherwise, like Epochalyptik said, you'll be contradicting the deck. Control decks have to focus on controlling the game. The way you win is by controlling the game and then taking advantage of the board state to win.

Nigrescence, Epochalyptik, thanks for your input. i think i may be my original goal was to use Lyev Skyknight for early control in the guise of Detain, and then using that 3 Power on the offensive, occasionally bouncing them with Deputy of Acquittals . along with Lavinia of the Tenth , exiling spells, blue counterspells and Detain spells, that was the extent of the control. i was wondering if i should use lots of enchantments to get rid of threats and then use Ethereal Armor s on my Battalion creatures, like Tajic?

Be careful about how much you're trying to do. Right now you want to do control and battalion and enchantments. That's just too much. Control wants mana to be open, battalion needs mana to be spent on lots of creatures, and enchantments take up deck space and need creatures to function.

Detain with bounce for reuse falls into the category of tempo and not control.

If you want to go that route, use the detain creatures like the Lyev Skyknight and Lavinia of the Tenth and the Azorius Arrester and Azorius Justiciar . Use the Deputy of Acquittals .

Add some spells, and add Conjurer's Closet .
