Decklink;
I'm currently trying to figure out which would have the better use in the deck I'm building. Both have pros as well as cons. Currently Deathrite Shaman is main boarded and Wasteland Viper is sideboarded. What I'm trying to figure is which would be the better mainboarded. Help is appreciated.

I haven't played since RtR came out some I'm about a year behind, moved across country and looking to get back into magic, so I don't know the current meta so really it's just a general opinion but as to your advice that's great to know so that both will stay to be swapped for one another given the opposing deck

Absolutely run the shaman. It shuts down an entire popular archetype, it deals damage when you need to finish the game, ramps when you're short mana, and gains life when you need to get back in the game. And at it's worst, it eats up your opponent's removal because everyone hates seeing this guy facing them turn 1.

I'd say that would depend on your meta. If you're against a lot of aggressive decks, the Viper may be a good way to slow them down. You lose some versatility, but gain a little bit of defense.
If you're against a lot of Junk Reanimator, keep the Shaman. His ability to negate half of that deck is pretty solid.
