Deck idea help

Deck Help forum

I was randomly browsing magiccards.info and came across an interesting card. Bitter OrdealMTG Card: Bitter Ordeal caught my eye for two reasons; one, because ive always liked the storm mechanic but have only been able to make it work in Red; two, because it is Black and the idea of Gravestorm is wonderfully evil for this game >:)I'm wondering if I could possibly make a fun casual deck out of this, but I have no idea what to build it with... Some help would be appreciated, especially from some of the veteran members here and from experienced players as well.

Gravestorm requires that permanents be put into a graveyard. Permanents are objects on the battlefield. Putting a land, creature, planeswalker, artifact, or enchantment into your graveyard will count for gravestorm, but putting a land card, creature card, planeswalker card, artifact card, or enchantment card into your graveyard from a non-battlefield zone will not.

The CR quote to back up my analysis:

702.67a Gravestorm is a triggered ability that functions on the stack. "Gravestorm" means "When you cast this spell, put a copy of it onto the stack for each permanent that was put into a graveyard from the battlefield this turn. If the spell has any targets, you may choose new targets for any of the copies."

You might use a token sacrifice deck to take advantage of this, as tokens do hit the yard. You would almost need an infinite combo to make it fully effective.

Perhaps you could look into incorporating it into an Eldrazi Spawn deck? You could use Awakening ZoneMTG Card: Awakening Zone and Brood BirthingMTG Card: Brood Birthing. For a non-mill wincon you could include Beastmaster AscensionMTG Card: Beastmaster Ascension for swinging with all your tokens.

ah thanks Epoch I wasnt sure if tokens do hit the graveyard before they cease to exist. That helps out alot! Are there any infinite combos for untapping artifacts? Because i have an idea for Time SieveMTG Card: Time Sieve and maybe Kuldotha ForgemasterMTG Card: Kuldotha Forgemaster.

There's a loop you can make with 2x Myr GalvanizerMTG Card: Myr Galvanizer and any number of Myr that produce mana, but as for general artifacts I am not sure.

There's the ThopterBlade combo: Thopter FoundryMTG Card: Thopter Foundry + Sword of the MeekMTG Card: Sword of the Meek. Sacrifice Sword to Foundry and it comes back attached to the token. You can do this as many times as you can pay for it, so it goes infinite with Ashnod's AltarMTG Card: Ashnod's Altar. You could add Clock of OmensMTG Card: Clock of Omens to untap Time SieveMTG Card: Time Sieve and then sacrifice the tapped creatures to pay for Time SieveMTG Card: Time Sieve's ability.

The problem with that is while all the ideas are there, the deck might fail in practice due to overcomplexity. At the very least, though, the Thopter approach provides an alternate wincon.
