Desecration Demon shock value vs Consistancy

Im running my only Desecration Demon in my deck Demons and Hydras Oh My!. I love it when I play him and I see the reaction of my opponent switch to figuring out ways to deal with my creature. The demon is an awesome card exactly because he demands an answer, granted he has one built in to his mechanics. So my question is, is having him as a one of better than cutting him for more consistency in my creature base. Were I to cut him, I would probably add in either an additional Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch or another Dreg Mangler , both are hasty creatures, and I only have 2 of each in my deck. Additionally, is 8 mana dorks too much with 22 lands?

The deck is a little all over the place. Consolidating your 1 and 2-ofs in general will help, as will upping the number of lands by at least 2. Consider adding at least a few Scrylands if you can.

8 mana dorks are nice, but you can't rely on them. You need to be hitting your land drops for at least the first 4 turns.
