Detain vs Battalion

Deck Help forum

Justice is Served is a deck that bounces Detain creatures and then uses Battalion triggers to hopefully close out the game. Still trying to get the balance just right, so any suggestions on your end would be perfect.

I would suggest using cards that don't use detain or batallion. ;) Seriously though, they are both terrible abilities.

well the point of the deck is to use the two abilities, Schuesseled

Yes, i just think you'd be better off not doing that.

But if you still wanna

Looking at you deck, i'd say you'd be best off either going all out aggro or all out control, using detain, as a way of getting past blockers (aggro) or using battalion as a finisher (control).

If you go down the control route, add more sphinx revelations, supreme verdict and add in a few assemble the legion, if you go aggro take that stuff out for more aggro stuff.

i'm trying to find a way to do both, though. early control and finish off with an alpha strike, using creatures that can detain and bouncing them as well as flying battalion creatures. a lot of people say it can't be done, but i'm hoping someone can at least make a suggestion and think outside the box.

The main issue of Detain vs Battalion is that Battalion is only an aggressive move, while Detain can either be aggressive or defensive. On the other hand, detain is largely creature-centric (only multicolored detain cards can target permanents) while battalion usually works just as well without your opponent having creatures (depending on the battalion creatures, of course). I'll leave deck critique on the deck page
