Deviant Glee vs. Madcap Skills

Deck in question: Sheogorath's Madness

Formats: Standard. Casual.

So, right now I have 4x Deviant Glees in my mainboard, and I have 2x Madcap Skills sideboarded. I am unsure on what would go best with my deck.

Should I mainboard the madcap skills and sideboard 2x deviant glees?

The advantage of deviant glee is that it costs just B. I usually drop a 2/2 Rakdos Cackler turn 1, and I attack with him + Deviant Glee attached for 4 damage (sometimes 6 if I have another deviant glee attached).

On the other hand, Madcap Skills pumps up +3/+0, and there's that blocking condition which can be quite handy in the beginning stages. The downside is that it costs 1R, which in the first few turns might be a bit too restrictive (on turn 2 I could only enchant a rackdos cackler with Madcap Skills , whereas if I had Deviant Glee I might cast another creature spell on the battlefield with the 1 mana left - say, another Rakdos Cackler ).

What say you?

Well, from an economical point of view Deviant Glee is half the price of Madcap Skills and enchanting a creature with two Deviant Glee 's would be more powerful than one Madcap Skills but then you have to factor in removal and think that if that creature died you'd lose more cards from your deck (3 instead of 2). Madcap Skills has an interesting effect on blockers but if you consider that you should be removing blockers with a quick Searing Spear to the face then it's not so useful - unless they're down to just one creature and then it's great. Deviant Glee offers trample though which can carry damage over. I think if you want to cast unleashed creatures as quickly as possible and support with burn then you won't have a lot of mana left over - in that case Deviant Glee . I can see arguments for either though so playtesting might be valuable.

But if you are attacking in groups then Madcap Skills will either absorb blockers and let your other creatures through or push 3 extra damage with the creature enchanted by Madcap Skills

Hmm, I think I'll go with Madcap Skills , but I need to playtest both and just see how it goes.

Thank you both for your input. :)
