Do I need Mizzium Mortars?

I have 2x Mizzium Mortars in the sideboard of my deck, Screw Smokey. However, I'm wondering if I really need them.

Since the deck is R/w/b, I could easily include any number of hard removal instead of a creature-only burn spell. My meta contains at least one of each current T1 deck (mono-u, esper, r/w devotion, etc.)

Yes. But having too many isn't do great. It's the best solution for bbov

I agree here. Blood Baron of Vizkopa will have protection from A LOT of your deck and if you don't have one available..he could give you fits

I haven't seen Blood Baron of Vizkopa in my meta for over a month. Every BW deck is Esper control.

They don't run him in the sideboard? Seems silly to me.

Not that I've seen. They run the AEtherling and Elspeth, Sun's Champion version.

Then I might keep them in the side and replace with another kill spell. Devour Flesh ?

I think he thought you were running them mainboard. Leave them in the sideboard for matchups that have BBoV
