Domri or Garruk
Deck Help forum

Alright guys, I've recently came across a Liliana of the Veil and have two offers.
I can either get two Domri Rade s or two Garruk, Caller of Beasts
Which one would be better for my deck: There Is Nothing But Gruul
I would either hold the liliana or go domri. I just like domri better and think he's more aggressive oddly enough.

I feel that Domari is better for both the lower mana cost as you mentioned. He also gives you draw power in a creature heavy deck, a way to take out problem threats, as well as his game breaking Negative 7 effect.

Okay, thanks guys. I really appreciate the advice.
If I come across Garruk in the future, would you play him in here?

Hmmm.....both would work well i think. I personally would go Domari, but i wouldn't think less of you for going with Garruk.

Okay, well I'm thinking I'll take Domri for this trade for sure. And then If I come across him in the future, I'll throw him in the deck too.

I vote team liliana, but either would be fine, but i think domri would be better, garruk is more commonly seen in the devotion decks cause they can spit him out early as turn 4

After looking over your deck I'd actually have to say no. Your deck list is pretty aggressive and even with the ramp you don't wanna ramp into garruk. You wanna ramp into your win which is kind of how you've got the build organized right now. If it aint broke don't fix it.

I think liliana is going to be gone no matter what ryuzaki32667 :/ I just don't have a purpose for her and would love two domri rades instead. Plus, I've been in modern and legacy for so long, I just want to do standard for once. Liliana is definitely a good team to be on though haha.
Bellock86, you wouldn't take either? you would take the domri? Right now I have zero Domris. I just updated her in not to long ago to see how it looked.

If you have one liliana and aren't really gonna use it I'd take the domri's. I picked up three of them myself several months ago and absolutely love that card. All I meant is that cmc wise garruk isn't really gonna fit in with the aggressive build you have. Domri works better of the 2 for sure. Sorry for my last post being confusing.

Well it sounds like I'm going with the dormis lol.
Bellock86 no it's fine. if anything it was probably my fault I couldn't understand it. I kind of knew I shouldn't go with garruk because of that. You just made me belive it haha. I appreciate the help.

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I think Garruk is mandatory in any Green deck in Standard right now unless the deck is pure aggro (all cards cmc < 4), which this is not. Ideally, you would have both in there (I'd probably cut Gruul War Chant
), but if you're forced to choose, Garruk should be the guy.
If you want a Green deck to be able to hang with top decks like MBD and UWx that have strong removal, you need hard-hitting card advantage to replace threats that get removed and the cards spent on dorks to ramp into them. Domri's plus will get you .5 creatures per turn on average, whereas Garruk will get you 2.5.
As for the comment above that says that you don't want to ramp into Garruk, but a win con, unfortunately none of GR's win cons have reliable protection. There's too much good removal in Standard to put all of your eggs in one basket. If you really, really believe in the "heart of the cards" and aren't worried about having to topdeck after your threats are removed, leave out Garruk; otherwise, he's a must-have,

You do bring up a good point ChrisHansonBiomancin. You even brought the math lol. I am really close to having all my cards atlease equal to or less than four. I have 2 at five, and 6 and 4. the rest are under. Isit that big of a deal? My mana ramps usually cover anything I use.
I just play tested the deck with domri in it and it worked extremely well cause I could get her out so early. I fear that if I put Garruk in, he'll throw that off.
Low costing threats are better than high costing threats against control aren't they? That way you really don't loose either way if they counter a planeswalker or creature?

BTW just an fyi Domri Rade ~ totally a dude. I only point this out cuz you kept saying "her".
And im not saying Garruk, Caller of Beasts is bad but I feel that I. This deck Domri Rade is just better, faster, and a better overall fit.

Yeah I realized last night if it was a her, her boob would be hanging out. Is he a kid then? Or am I just gender blind?

I keep on hearing that domri is good, but it just because of the mana cost for it?
