American Dragonshift: Bird Tokens

Can I populate a creature token that I turn into a dragon with Dragonshift??? Or is it no longer a creature token??

Card descriptions in the deck.

This card looks wonderfully awesome. I'm going to have many good times turning a whole bunch of creatures into dragons and blowing up Sarkhan the Mad

The short answer is yes, you can do that and get a dragon token like you want.

The long answer is check out rule 706. Copying Objects in the comprehensive rules.

I can't wait for this card. I'm playing with a build that uses Call to the Kindred and Descendants' Path as a way to cheat large dragons into play (A dance with dragons). DragonShift opens up a lot of possibilities and makes me independent of cards like Dragon Hatchling and Slumbering Dragon

So if I have Kiln Fiend as a 1/2 and then cast Dragonshift on it, will Kiln Fiend 's ability trigger and keep the bonus with it before it turns into a 4/4 Dragon with flying? Because boy oh toys, if it is so, a swarm of Kiln Fiend s, Wee Dragonauts and Dragon's Maze's Nivix Cyclops sure wants me to get funky with that move.

Hmm...I think the pump would stick. But that's a good question for the Q&A

pookypuppy6: Yes, it would. Effects that boost power and toughness are on a different layer than effects that set power and toughness, so you'd have a 7/4 dragon.

Changed the name of the deck to American Dragonshift. I'm getting some dispute as to whether or not I can populate the dragons. Any one care to 100% verify that I can or can't? I checked rule 706 but didn't know where to begin with it.
