Hey guys I'm thinking about playing modern Dredge since I'm not too familiar with anything over Timespiral. I've noticed that alot of people are siding for grave-hate now over typical artifact-hate. I do not have the money right now to buy high dollar cards though so would making the Graveborn decklist with a dredge engine be a viable solution?
yeah I saw that, I was thinking Reclaim , Zombify , Betrayal of Flesh , etc... but i'm not quite sure if the deck would be fast enough in modern since it looks like affinity has gotten a complete make over on the banned list =.

Those spells are kind of slow to be playable in any competitive deck. Reclaim isn't a true reanimate spell because you'll have to cast whatever you're putting on top. The other two cost too much and can easily get countered, leaving you stuck without options.

Epoc I realize Reclaim isn't a true reanimate card, but without decent reanimate cards legalized in Modern Zombify would be the closest bet. I was also going to add in Llanowar elves to pull off a 2nd turn imp since I do not have my BOPs now. Like I said I have only recently wanted to get back into Magic and trying to come up with a decent inexpensive deck for modern. I may just wait until I get my cards from my dad's house and go affinity since I have most of the pieces for that. Also spectre that looks like a solid deck. Anyways I just think it's garbage that WOTC is allowing disciples & ravagers to be in modern yet ban grave troll & dread return, but hey that's WOTC for you. Sorry for the rant but I enjoyed it lol

Golgari Grave-Troll and Dread Return are banned in Modern, which significantly lowers the power of Dredge decks.
