Dredge Hate. How does one deal with it?

My friends and I are all relatively new to Magic, most of them play mono color decks and I recently discovered the very hilarious Dredge deck type with Iona, Shield of Emeria as a dredge target, yes, this is very assholish. So this is about exactly what the title says. Dredge hate. How do I deal with it? Specifically Grafdiggers Cage.

It's hard to tell you anything without knowing what your deck is or at least what colors it uses.

I also think you might be using the keyword "dredge" when you mean some type of reanimation effect, such as Rise from the Grave or Unburial Rites . Dredging involves returning cards from your graveyard to your hand by putting cards from your library into your graveyard. Of course, reanimation and dredge work naturally together; I would just like to be clear on what part of your deck is being disrupted, dredge or reanimation.

Dredge decks tend to have reanimation elements, even if they aren't all-out reanimator. I assume the intent is to reanimate Iona, Shield of Emeria , probably because it lacks the dredge ability.

Surgical Extraction will work only if one gets the card:Grafdigger's Cage in the grave; I assume you have no mechanism to ensure this such as a discard suite.

Are you running green? Bramblecrush may be an idea if so, for it can wreck graveyard-restricting enchantments as well as artifacts.

Black? A discard suite may help (e.g: Duress ), but this won't work all the time. Once that happens Surgical Extraction can help annihilate the other copies. Nightmare Void is slower but fits far better into a Golgari-esque dredge strategy, if that's what you are describing.

Im running Blue/Black/Green and I put 4 card:Nature's Claims to use against card:Grafdigger's Cage. And then Surgical Extraction s to follow up card:Nature's Claim. But I dont know about anything else. Its just luck to get these and they take up space in my deck that could be there for other key cards.
