hey everyone, im planning on making my first EDH deck, but im mixed on who my commander will be, and of course, Net price of the deck is a factor. im thinking Nath of the Gilt-Leaf for B/G elves, or B/U Dralnu, Lich Lord , Oona, Queen of the Fae or Sygg, River Cutthroat

All of those potential generals have different strategies associated with them. You should be able to build any of them without spending a fortune, but that depends on the strategy you choose and how much you want to optimize the deck.

see, as the post says, im new to edh so im not sure what strategies go into it. for example, Sygg, River Cutthroat , Put a Bump in the Night in an edh deck with him and thats the only strategy i can think of. but Nath of the Gilt-Leaf you can pair with Duress and Triumph of Cruelty

You actually cant use Bump in the Night in any of the decks, because the flashback cost has red in it.

First, you can't play Bump in the Night in a sigg deck, it's not in the color identity of the commander.

As epoch said, they all have different strategy,

Dralnu likes instant and sorcery. Sigg need you to do at least 3 damage each turn, unblockable creatures maybe? Oona is a mill commander. And nath goes with elves while giving you acces to black.

All of them can be used with other strategy or simply good stuff. All of them can be built casual for 20$ or competitive for 2000$.... It's up to you to find how you would like to win your games.

Sygg give you card advantage, maybe go discard/draw?

I think Nath would be fairly straightforward to build. You would want to stack multiplayer discard like Cackling Fiend , Cunning Lethemancer , Liliana of the Veil and then elf anthems like Elvish Champion and whatnot.

Point of interest, Sadistic Hypnotist goes infinite with nath. Also, play Bottomless Pit and Mindslicer , both are hilarious.

@Blakkhand: Well, it doesn't go infinite. It does empty all hands and give you several tokens, but the effect doesn't do anything once your opponents run out of cards to discard.
